Has anyone beside me ordered their 05 with a Stick, instead of an auto, so their wife/girlfriend wont be able to drive it?

 

I ordered stick, but my wife hates to drive autos so I`m screwed

 

I tried that with my '01, but it backfired on me. Turns out it's pretty convenient when I need the cargo space of her Escape.

 

Not a wife or girlfriend, but more brothers and sisters. In a family of 5, there is often car trading...

Nope, GF drives a stick at the moment. My car would most likely be a weekend car as I drive a company car, she already wants to drive it to work on Fridays.

 

THIS DOES NOT WORK!!! My wife drives my 05 as much as me and gets more thumbs up.

 

OMG... I am laughing on one hand, but on the other, I am thinking what a crummy thing to do!!!

C'Mon Rick, you outta know better than to think just because its a stick she wont drive it. Please tell me this was a joke...

I dont know a girl who cant drive a stick. Like Mark's wife, I cant stand autos. heck, when I got my 99, I had to wrestle the keys from hubby! I am going to have to paint this thing purple, just to keep it from hubby. I tried putting girlie things on it, like a fairy sticker in the window, a sticker about being a lesbian in the window... and he STILL drives the thing. He swears if I paint it purple, he wont touch it... and now that he has his big ole truck, I am pretty sure he will leave my 05 alone... I hope!

 

I would get a stick just 'cause it is infinite times more fun

 

My girlfriend can't drive a stick and that's one of the reaons I ordered one,
it's no where near the top of the list but I have to say it's there.

My girlfriend has expressed the desire to learn though ..... on my 05!

 

Maybe its because we both grew up in the country, but neither my wife nor I had ever driven an automatic until driver training in high-school, and neither of us has owned one since. Come to think of it, I don't think she has as much as even driven an automatic since then (that was about 15 years ago).

In my case, if I bought an auto, she would probally have to remember how to drive that instead

 

no one in my family knows how to drive stick.

I want a manual for the fun factor, the fact that no one else can drive it is a fringe benefit.

I ordered my 05 GT with a manual. My wife insisted on me getting my Mustang with a manual, even though she doesn't know how to drive a stick. She knows how much I enjoyed driving the manuals I owned before, and told me to order my new car the way I wanted it. So I did. Besides, I never have to adjust the mirrors and seats.

 

One of the reasons I liked my wife was that she knew how to drive a manual! Besides, the reason I like manuals aren't to prevent anyone from driving it.

 

No boyfriend, friends and family will drive my stick baby... at leats the first 6 months ! B)

 

Yeah Jessica, We went all over looking for a manual explorer for my wife because noway would she drive an auto

 

I didn't mean to insinuate that girls don't know how to drive stick....but ALOT of them don't.

My friends wife doesn't know how, and she is a horrible driver. He got a stick. :-)

 

My fiance drives my 02 coup automatic. She does not know how to drive a stick.

She has tried to learn, but gave up. My 05 is safe. From her at least.

 

Us girlfriends/wives on this board who drive a manual 05 GT should be rewarded with a baseball bat to keep the MEN off OUR cars!!

 

I am buying the manual GT, she does not know how to drive a manual, but I plan on teaching her on the 2005. :drive:
