Steering Squeel
Thought I should mention that I had a problem with the steering making noise when the wheel was turned only after the car was warmed up. I tried putting in more fluid but that didn't do anything. After I brought it to the first dealer they had my car for two days and all they did was claim to "tighten a tensioner" and that the noise was gone. After I drove it home the problem seemed to be gone, then the next day it was back.
Dealer number two had 100% better customer service and fixed the problem in a matter of hours. They said they had to take the whole steering rack down and relubricate the "boots." Now a week later the steering is still quiet, thought I should share what fixed the problem just incase it happens to someone else

Did this noise happen only when you were actually moving - turning or could you be sitting still and turn the steering wheel and it squeal? They couldn't find any problem with mine and so several months later I still squeal. Really annoying seeing as how it is now out of the 36,000 mile warranty. It seems that when enough people have the problem they identify it and will fix it under warranty but if you were one of the "lucky" people to get one of the '05s built in the first quarter of production then you are going to be SOL because you won't have any warranty left by the time they find a solution you have complained about since the get-go.

I had the problem it would make a kind of whirring noise that sounded like it was comming from the steering wheel. Fluid level was good and it didnt matter if the car was moving or not. Took it to dealer and they replaced the rack and pinion under warranty. Seems to turn much easier now.
