I am shopping to order a MY2006 GT. I have a friend who gave me the X-Plan PIN.

This is the response I got from the local stealer. This guy is on CRACK!

Thank you for your E-mail. Sorry -we do not take X-Plan on GT Mustangs.The added Dealer Mark-up over MSRP =$5995. The Internet Dept is taking orders for 2006 GT's @ $1,995. over MSRP. The Ford Rep told us 2006 5.4 V8 engines are already sold out to Dealer orders.

I'd email back and tell him you'd be more than happy to pay $1995 over MSRP if he can promise your 2006 Mustang GT will have a 5.4 V8 in it....

Some of these guys are on crack... on the bright side... there are good dealers out there... keep trying...

 

Keep looking for a dealer.

 

Actually, this isn't a bad idea. Turn his little idea around on him. Respond Thusly:

"The 5.4's are gonna be sold out, huh? darn, I really wanted one of those. Tell you what - I'll make you a deal. If you can get your hands on one of those 5.4L V8s for me, I'll pay $2000 over sticker. But if not, then you agree to sell me the car for $2000 under sticker [or at dealer cost, or $500 over dealer cost, or some such thing]."

Just make sure to get it in writing...

(How fun would that be to lift up the engine on the day you go to take delivery and point to the 4.6...? )

 

You gotta love how DUMB most dealers are. I loved that when I ordered my 05, I knew about 100% more about the car than anyone at any of the dealers. You would think that since their job is selling cars, that they would know about the product.

 

The guy most likely does not know the difference between the FORD GT and the FORD Mustang GT. I had someone walk up to me and say "Is this the new Mustang GT?" I said yes and he said "Wow, I didn't know you could get them in Canada and that they were over $100,000.00 US". I told him that was the GT, not Mustang GT. He was very confused. Good job FORD

 

You got that right!! When I went to order mine, I told the guy I wanted a GT with cloth seats.......his response......."You can't get cloth on a GT". Well, I pulled out my "build your mustang" sheet and showed him!! I felt proud I knew more than he did!! I'd done my homework....they didn't have anything on me!!!!

 

My dealer told me I had to order both the IUP, and the interior sport appearance package to get the interior I wanted. But the IUP includes evrything that the sport package has.



But then again my dealer told me I could get the medium parchment interior with a screaming yellow and that the gt had only 290 ft. pounds of torque so whatever...
