In Auto World weekly magazine. Thay are writting that Ford created new headship to impotr&export. His name is Jan Brentebraten. And that he is going to export to Europe US Ford fleet like F, Mustang and others.

There are lots of cars on the streets here with equal mpg and displacement. BMW and Jaguar for example. But be that as it may, the amount of money people will be saving on a Mustang instead of buying an equally powered (luxury) car will be the biggest persuader. There virtually will not be any competition for Ford as there wouldn't be a car in that price-class with that amount of power. A LOT of potential buyers are sitting here if you ask me.
+ right now there's a trend going on versus BMW here, that these cars a really overpriced and are becoming rather boring and mediocre. A car for the boring moneyloaded CEO or something.
+ a lot of adolescents are 'ricing' out there cars over here too. Which ALSO implies that a 300hp Mustang would make respect in these circles and pricewise an obtainable goal. Might not make sense at first, but the thirst for genuine muscle is really out here, but there's no supplier. Don't think everybody here drives 10 year old little rusty French cars.
If the GT won't be over 30000 euro (39000$- take in account the high dollar - low euro current configuration), the sales will be massive.

I can't comment on the market in Belgium, but my feeling is that there is not a massive market for these cars in Europe.
I qualify this as someone who has a Mustang on order, and here in the UK there is a lot of interest. But it is from car enthusiasts and hence a small minority, the mpg lack of history (in the EU that is) lack of badge ( I weep at how consumers are so hooked on having a blue propellor badge) etc will put the majority off. Mind you I hope the official line comes off, some officail support would be great.

My '05 GT just arrived in Holland and I'm already a bit worried about the gas price with this car's mpg. Today the price for 98 octane at SHELL in Holland is EUR 1.34/litre, meaning USD 6.6/gallon !!!
On the other hand, my current car is a 210 hp '04 Volvo S60 turbocharged and I drive around 1,600 miles/month, so I'm used to spending a lot on fuel...
By the way, I couldn't import my GT through Ford Europe (they don't do it), so all in all I had to pay USD 44,000 (and that's tax-free, luckily I'm exempt or it would have cost me USD 70,000!).
Somehow it doesn't seem fair to have to pay twice as much for the same car in Europe as in the US - and that goes for European-made cars too!
Well... at least I'll get my hands on mine before the end of April (exactly, it needs some modifications here in Holland too, in order to be approved to go on the roads...).

Once the European market gets its hands on pure Mustang muscle, you guys are going to be scary tearing around all those diesels and 2 litre 4 cyl cars.
Then we'll start to hear how, once again, that something like the Mustang GT is yet another iteration of American arrogance....the nerve of us....offering a lightening fast, old world V8 to pollute the pristine values of the OLD WORLD!
Joking (kind of).....hope you guys get the Mustang. You'll love it the first time you crank it up and hear it rumble.

Slightly off topic...
In the late 80's I was seeing Europe (Uncle Sam's Submarine Tours!) and I saw all those wonderful Escort GT's in England. The one's that were not available in the states....factory wide body kits, raspy free flow exhaust, and big (then) 15" aluminum mags. WOW!! During the subsequent visit to Paris I was walking with shipmates on the Chance-de-lysia (spelling
) and in front of a french cafe was a 69' GT 500KR....Holy Crap!!....across the street was the Lamborghini dealership...That was one of my favorite shore leaves!!
