Is it "typical" to pay the FDAF (Ford advertising) on a special ordered 2005 GT under the Xplan pricing?

Or, is the FDAF assessment a fact of life like the destination & delivery charge??

FDAF should not be added above and beyond x-plan. A portion of it, $150, is included in the x-plan number that is on the invoice. So like the d&d, it is just a part of the x-plan price.

maucoin,
The $240 FDAF assessment was added on my X-Plan GT automatically by the computer (Vehicle Order Confirmation) when I ordered it.
The Boss Hog

Edit:

On reviewing my Vehicle Order Confirmation, I'm not sure if $240 was added or not. Here is how it reads:
1. It lists the MSRP and Dealer Invoice on base vehicle and on options.
2. It adds $625 delivery to both MSRP and Invoice.
3. It adds $240 FDAF and $22.50 gas only to the Invoice side
4. Lists MSRP total of $26975 and Invoice total of $24951.55
5. Under the Invoice column it then shows A/Z/D Plan of $23880.55
6. Finally it shows X-Plan of $24985.77 again under the Invoice column

It looks like the FDAF was included in the X-Plan price and not added on top of the X-Plan price.

My Vehicle Order Confirmation reads exactly the way BossHog stated, except it doesn't show A/D/Z plan pricing. Just goes from Total Invoice (including the $240 FDAF & the $625 D&D) of $25,653.46, to X Plan price of $25,689.75.

Which compare about as favorably to Boss Hog's quote. I apparently have about $700 more in options than he does.

So, it looks like while the FDAF and D&D are listed in the invoice column, they are not specifically "added on" in the Xplan price (wish they showed how the Xplan price is computed).

Thanks, Karpro and Boss Hog, for your input.

My understanding is that X-plan is calculated as follows: A plan+4%+$150. So if you know A plan price you could figure Xplan with this method.

Yeah, I've seen that formula before. My quote sheet didn't show A/D/Z plan pricing, however the math indicates A plan price would be $24,557.45.

Irrelevant to me though since I have Xplan not Aplan.

Thanks.

When I have bought under X plan, FDAF (or LDMA for Lincolns & Mercurys) was NOT added in.

X plan is a fixed price NOTHING can be added on not even dealer paperwork charges such as a conveyance fee.

That's the beauty of Xplan---no add ons, no hassles, no haggling....the price is the price.

Thanks, guys.
