Unhappy

Well, today, at 810pm(ish), I was robbed at knifepoint by two hispanic guys. They took my car, a computer, and my work bag with all kinds of software and network/phone tools. As well as my wallet, and my bank card (cancelled), my phone (turned off) and a couple of 80 gig drives.

So now I have no money, no car, no phone, and I can't work. But at least they didn't stab me.

Wait. They took my Star Trek music CD in the radio.

So, after it all settles out, I think I'm gonna get me that '05 after all... Didn't really want a payment yet, but hey, gotta get around.

I don't know. I've been enjoying being part of this board, I just wanted to share with someone other than my family I guess. I've had so much fun here, but I needs a shoulder...

Ok, thanks to any and all.

Mods, you can move it wherever's appropriate.

/me looks for eject button off this rock. Mars is lookin' pretty sweet now...

That's awful. I understand how you feel. They'll probably find the car, if that's any consolation.

Crap, that is terrible. I hope those guys get caught and someone makes them their "man-slaves" in prison. Seriously, I can't imagine how that must feel. Congrats on deciding to purchase an 05!

Glad you felt you could vent here. Talk to the insurance company, but as soon as you can, order that new stang. You need something to look forward to!

Very sorry to hear about your losses man. Very glad to hear you are alive, however. Not to trivialize the matter, but you may be feeling a helluva lot better when you're driving home in your '05 a couple months from now

Thanks for the feelins folks. My fambly and friends have been pretty good about everything, as has the insurances, bank, phone peeps and the HPD. They were quick to get there, like 5 minutes.

I'm just glad that I am unhurt. All that other stuff is just stuff. I can replace it eventually.

Side note: My brother and brother in law are HPD officers, so they're bein' helpful in gettin' the word out to other precincts. We may catch those morons yet. I hope so.

I really wasn't much for guns for myself, but after this, well... I dunno.

Maybe I just shouldn't work late. :sigh:

Anyway, I'm just checkin' in at my sister's house. I just flung that post up at the house just before my bro-in-law picked me up, so I didn't see any other posts yet, and saw some responses. Prolly gonna go to sleep soon. Gotta get a car tomorrow from Enterprise. Farmers is THE best, BTW, if you're lookin' for excellent people in Houston. Lemme know, I'll hook ya up.

/g'night.

Naw, I hope you stolen ride has a undiscovered defect that causes it burst into flames while these two jerks are riding in it trapping them in the process and reducing them to pretty bits of carbon that could be used for something useful.

Good thing you mentioned they're Hispanic... there's very few in Chicago, so I'll watch my back. (j/k -- thought it was funny he mentioned that tidbit for whatever reason...)

Well, houtex, gotta remember one thing...

Cars can be replaced. YOU are irreplacable. You did the right thing.

Can't wait till you get your 05.

Hispanic guys like that give my family a bad name. It's become almost a stereotype to associate Hispanics with crime, and it's just a shame. For one, because it's partly true, and, two, the rest of the Hispanic population are truly great people.

Well, on the brighter side, there can't be too many green Mark VIII's rolling around your area. Maybe they'll find it somehow.

Houtex,
Glad you are OK, sorry about what happened. I am kind of suprised how bold those criminals are, considering you can conceal-carry in TX (I think). Hopefully your connections with the PD will pay off and they will catch these guys before they cross the border. Well, at least you can get an 05 mustang sooner than you thought.

Amen!

SO sorry to hear about that man. It really pisses me off when stuff like that happens to someone. Start carryin', brother.

I so wish I could get a license to carry here in the left-wing fantasy land of Massachusetts.

I'm glad your ok.

Mass will NEVER have CCW.

Here in Michigan we do. I carry often. Wouldn't want to use it. But would in a heartbeat if in the same situation as you.

Houtex, I'm also sorry to hear about what happened to you. It's not right, but you are so correct that the main thing is that you are unhurt, because you cannot be replaced. Hang in there, and I also hope that they catch those thugs before they roll the next person.

PS: I'm also so glad to hear that you are considering the 2005 ! If you need it quicker, maybe you could enroll all of us to search the country looking for one on a lot for you.

Sorry to hear about your circumstance. Thankfully you weren't harmed.

As mentioned above cars/materials can be replaced . . . .

Keep us updated on whether the "bad guys' are caught.
