Can you special order the '05 Mustang in Sonic Blue with Red Leather interior?

Here is my story:
I ordered a 98 Ford Contour in Red. The only interiors available was beige cloth, grey cloth, and black leather(almost purple). But I wanted blue cloth which was available with an exterior color of blue, white, etc. The dealer said it would look awful. I said thats what I wanted. So he ordered it, no additional cost. It came Red with blue interior. I had a unique looking car that few duplicated.

Can the same be done with a Mustang? How horrible will Sonic blue with Red interior be? If it cant then I will go with black with red interior.

 

Looking at the order guide, I doubt it. Unless the dealership can somehow sneak that in, which I don't see happening.

I personally think the contast would be too much for sonic blue.

 

I dunno. With the black (sorry, dark charcoal. :P ) seperating the red from the blue, I *could* see it as not too sickening. Still kinda strange though. This is comin' from the guy who painted his computer red on the inside and blue/red chameleon on the outside. So I can see the interesting combo. I don't think I'd do it on a car.

But I'm still having trouble figuring out just how the dealer got that through... Oh, wait. He ordered two cars and swapped it out, right?

Yes, you can get red seats in your sonic blue (I'm probably doing exactly that).

Galaxie, it says on page 8 of the order guide that the Interior Color Accent Package is optional on ALL V6 and GT arrays.

When you said you didn't think Red seats were available in Sonic Blue, I assume you were looking at page 7, but I believe that page is only talking about tape strip availability.

That's the problem though, even if you could order one like that, you wouldn't even know how it looked until it was delivered and then you are stuck with it.

Sorry, but no, the red interior is not available with Sonic Blue. If you look on page 6 of the order guide it has the chart of available color combinations. You will see that there is no dot in the column with Sonic. You cant get it in the yellow, green or Windveil Blue either. I think you can understand why.

 

This just means it is available in all arrays, or trims. Not in all colors. It is special order guide code. B)

I beg to differ...i believe the dots you speak of have to do with (tape stripe) and not interior colors...
...it just appears that the colors you mention dont offer a stripe when you order red accent package...

anyone else? or em i reading this all wrong?

 

I myself believe only certain cars get certain interior colors. That's the way Ford currently does it with all their vehicles and I'm assuming it's going to stay that way.

 

Yeah, like not all cars can have all 3 (or 4 including red) interiors.

windviel (p3) can have all 3 interiors (beige, light graphite, dark charcoal) and that chart shows you the tape stripe you can get with that car (which again, not all are possible combinations)

 

I can see how this is misunderstood. The word availability is not in parentheses, nor are the dots. The words Tape Stripe are in paraentheses, as are the numbers.

It is my opinion that the dots do indicate whether or not a particular interior color is available with each exterior color. The numbers next to them of course indicate tape stripe. The red interior (by my interpretation) is not available on Yellow, both shades of Blue, and Legend Lime.

 

this is correct:

No Accent Package for Screaming Yellow, Sonic Blue, Legend Lime and Windveil Blue.
No Medium Parchment for Screaming Yellow
No Light Graphite for Screaming Yellow, Legend Lime and Mineral Grey

 

That color combo (if available) would definately have to be a special order.

Below is the screen shot from the Ford ordering computer. It shows SN, Sonic Blue paint code and all the available interior options with Sonic Blue. Red is absolutely not an option. Ford will also not allow you to order one car in a non available configuration.
