First off I had a Sonic Blue on order and do not flame anyone for getting one but I did change my order color to Redfire after seeing Sonic in many lighting conditions and it did not strike me the way it looks in pictures. Always had a purple tint to it especially when dirty or in the shade. Went to the Tulsa Auto show yesterday and could not believe the number of bad comments on that color. It did look very purple under the lights and I heard many many people say that color does not look good on the 05. I am glad I changed my color before my order went through. My biggest advice I can give is look at the color you are getting in all conditons like sun, shade, rain, cloudy day and dirty before you make the plunge. Pictures should not be the only criteria for choosing a color....Just some info.

I think its just a matter of personal preference.

adrenalin's car comes to my mind when I think of sonic blue and that car could not look bad or wrong in any light in my opinion.

Donna is right it is up to person what color they like on their Mustang, I have a sonic Blue 05 Mustang I love the color changes in the lighting from morning to evening when the sun is out.

I agree with you on that one Donna, his car is gorgeous. But for me I never considered getting a sonic blue, I have never been a big fan of blue cars. Except Laguna Seca BMW blue. I'd force myself to take one of those

I agree too, I love the color changes. It's kinda like having two different color cars all in one. I reminds me of the color my husband's 1969 ElCamino was painted when I met him. So when we saw the color we instantly knew it was what we wanted.

The only way to judge the color is to see it in person under natural lighting. At an autoshow under all those florescent lights of course it's gonna look purple. How often are you gonna drive it in a florescent light filled room? Probably never for most of us.

I'm not flaming you, it's just my opinion and I don't agree!

Just take one look at Adrenalin's sonic blue Mustang with the white stripes, and you tell me something bad about that color. My first choice was blue, but I am more of a dark blue guy, so I opted for the MG. But after seeing Adrenalin's car, I have to say I might have gotten SB if I had the chance to order again.

Yeah, who are you buying the car for? I know when I made my color choice, it was solely based on how I personally liked the color, as well as my wife of course. And also the fact that I knew I wanted stripes.

I likeit and if I was getting stripes - I would've gone with Sonic.
...Honestly, I'm looking forward to seein all the colors. Maybe even that 'electric pink'.
I would not have said that a few weeks ago (if you are not convinced then see the forum topic on the early years 'playboy pink' color).

If it was a great color it would still be around for 2006

People are so touchy about sonic blue.

It has to be the love it or hate it color on the 2005's. The fact that is isn't back for '06 doesn't make it a bad color, same as Legend Lime is getting replaced.

To each their own

man, my ears were burning so I had to check out this thread. So far nobody I have met has said "Dude, I really hate the colour of your car". It is either they do like it or afraid of telling me. I think the dealerships in town agree because so far all of them now have a Sonic Blue V6 with the FORD (ugh!) white racing stripes on the top. I guess they figured it would boost sales because they have yet to stripe any of the other cars they have received.

Sorry, but what was that about? You think just because it isn't going to be available in '06 means it's a bad color? Black isn't even available in '06. Is that a bad color, in your mind? It's being replaced with Ebony... Mineral Grey with Titanium, etc. Ford has to take some colors away and try new ones. In 2007, when Redfire isn't available and is replaced with Laser Tint Red or whatever other dark red, I'll be sure to bring up that your color was a bad choice in '05.
