Something odd happened

I had an issue with my '07 today that has me worried. I downshifted into 2nd while passing a car, when i hit 3rd and mashed the gas the car fell completely on its face for a second or 2 then took off...is there something wrong with my car? The only performance mods I have are a C&L racer intake, SCT tune, and Mac Axlebacs.

Are you sure you didn't just touch the rev limiter when you shifted or tripped traction control?

Nope didnt hit the limiter, the engine went silent for a quick second, almost like it was starving for fuel

When it happend to me I was turning off a highway onto a slower street. I turned and shifted into the proper lower gear (3rd in this case) and gave it some juice and the car jerked so hard my seltbelt had to lock stop me from hitting the steering wheel. It kicked right back up and hasn't done it since though. Felt like a really bad stall.

edit: Same thing with the engine going silent for me too.

Could be. I cleaned my TB since then for the idle fix so it might have been that.

A lot of us on here have the hesitation after a long cruise problem and it sounds like what your describing. if you'd been cruising for a while you might have it too. There's a TSB out on it ...

I've had that too and that hesitation is much less severe than what I experienced in this event.

Oh yea, I forgot about that TSB. I don't know how you handle getting a flash upgrade when you have a tune though You would think something like that would throw a code.

I had both the hesitation after a long cruise and the one you guys are describing now. I took it in for the TSB, they replaced the fuel pump and bingo BOTH of the problems never resurfaced.
Have the TSB done.
Why haven't they fixed this in production by now

Sounds like the TSB problem. Mine did the same thing, no more problems once TSB was done.

Does this TSB apply to '07's as well? If so where can I find it?

I also had this issue and the replacment fuel pump cured it, I though it was limited to us with the ever so old 05 stangs

I don't think it applies to the 07's, I think they fixed the fuel pumps after 06. Here is a link to all the TSB's for this car.

here's the specific TSB you're looking for.

I'm gettin' mine done this week.... along with a list of other crap. Still wouldn't buy any other car.... except perhaps an '07 (with all of my issues already corrected.)

I have the hesitation as well and replace the tb. My dealer said they need the car for 3 days to drive around. I am waiting to here back from the reginal office. They are locating a GT500 pump in my area for my car because of this.
