hi folks, this is my first time posting here but i have been reading through this forum for a few months. i am almost ready to place an order for an 06 gt and i had a few questions.

1. i was gonna just get the base audio system and upgrade it but then i read a few post about it being a pian in the **** to do so. So how is the quality on the shaker 1000?

2. When i i get my car i will do a few mods to it. im gonna go tint, exhaust, new rims, 4.10 gears, and possible a zex nitrous kit. The tint and the the rims i can figure out. I decided on a bassani exhaust with an x-pipe. Should i go with cats or not(no smog checks here in detroit)? Also i would like new headers but i heard they require some modifications to the exhaust are their any that dont?

3. plan to go nitrous because i cant afford a supercharger and dont really need 400+ hp 24/7, as this will be a daily driver. how will the stock motor handle say a 75 shot, any worries of blowing a motor? Also, im gonn get a auto trans, ya i no im a wuss but i really stink at a manual. Can the stock auto trans handle the stress nitrous, new exhaust system, and 4.10 gears are gonna put on it.

4. does any one no of any good places in the metro detroit area that can install this stuff and dyno and tune it?

I don't know about the drivetrain aspect of your question but I do have the shaker 1000 audio setup and I'm very pleased with it! So far I have not had any real problem's with it(knock on wood). Only got the bad disc message once and when I put the same cd back in it worked just fine. As for skipping it has only happened about 3 or 4 times. It really get's thing thumpin' and doesn't get real distored if you turn the volume up high. Hope this help's. I also ordered mine back in June of 04 and took delivery on 11/15/2004. Has everything but the side airbag's and locking wheels. It's a Redfire GT premium with a manual tranny.

 

thx for the info on the system and sounds like you have a nice car. i am gunning for a black gt coupe with spoiler delete, thats if the x-plan or a-plan thing works out.

I upgraded from the base audio system to an aftermarket system without problems. I wish someone made an aftermarket in dash changer though.

 

well thats cool, i was under the impression that it was a pain becasue of the harness and stuff as some others were saying(like not having all the subs or amps work). if thats the case then that would be great because the shaker 1000 dosent seem like good value as i could get a sweet custom system for $1200 or less.

anyone have any ideas on the powertrain side of things?
