Ford is asking dealers to order more GT model cars WITHOUT spoilers, and is forcing Automatic orders. Ford wants 2 autos ordered to get each 5-speed. So get ready to see a few batches of spoiler delete cars. So if you want an auto with spoiler delete, you are going right to the front of the line.

So now the 5-speeds are in short supply? :bang:

If I order my car today with a priority 10 with the spoiler, IUP and transmission delay i'll get it in April.

they are 2 different transmissions, shouldn't make a difference.

Cool.....My Satin Silver ordered is GT (no spoiler + automatic), so I will be expecting a pull of my order within a few days. If this is slowing down the production line at all, I wonder if the build quality gets better as well (such as no missing screws, etc.)? I do have IUP on my car though......

As many of you already know I ordered my new Mustang on 10/20, and when I ordered the car my dealer said it would be here in six weeks which would be in Mid December. Since I ordered a Premium GT w/ the automatic, IUP and spoiler what's that going to mean in regard to build and delivery dates?

The last time I talked to Ford they said my car is on a Temp Delay (has been that way for at least three weeks), and when asked for details they told me that 'order has been submitted to serialized order bank pending resolution of a production line problem.

I would be willing to delete the spoiler if I could get my car when the dealer said I would, but I don't know if that's possible since the order is at the plant already.

Man, I am glad I ordered when I did. GT, 5 speed manual, IUP, and spoiler as well... BUT since my order has been in for over a month now, I do have an early Dec build date. B)

My order has been in for exactly one month today and my car has been on a Temp Delay for at least three weeks.
Ford says it's in the serialized order bank waiting for something to be resolved on the production line.

I ordered a premium Mustang GT w/ an automatic, IUP and spoiler

They are just trying to controll flow. They ARE building them but the matrix is WAY out of proportion from what was intended(obviously with stuff like IUP's). But if thats what you are looking for auto gt/no spoiler, you can get it built asap. Even just the spoiler, I ordered myself one THREE weeks ago and its shipping this coming week. B)

Additional shortages on GT related parts should not be suprising since it seems the original GT/V6 mix projections were also way off.

The original IUP projection was 50% takeup, which means 50% of the cars produced per week can have IUP. The decision has been made to direct IUP parts to GTs for a while, and yet we still have lots of GTs with IUP (like mine) on material hold for weeks.

That means GT orders must be running over 50% when the original projections were 32%. No wonder they are running short of 5-speeds.

We may not have all the shortage facts (and Ford is not forthcoming with them), but I think everyone can agree this has been one very big marketing projection fumble.

i called ford yesterday about my order that i placed 10/25 black GT with IUP and a spoiler i asked the ford rep about the spoiler problem they told me that is was just a nasty rumor that got started and there is no such thing??? I also talked to them about my DORA and told them i havent seen anything yet they got my dealer information and my information and told me that my car is CURRENTLY being built without any material holds. The guy also said that right now they are running about from order to delivery on average of 12 weeks. They told me that my DORA would be at my dealer next week with my VIN etc. So hopefully this is good news ...and maybe answers some questions about the spoiler.

Well Ford's the one that started the rumor.
They sent an email to the dealer's last week.

More commodities issues, Order the spoiler delete

Doesn't make too much sense though, especially here in Canada where there is no spoiler delete option, thats the way they all come.

Anyhow I just ordered my GT today, I hope I see it before February, but I'm not holding my breath.
