Some Missing 2005 Features?

My 91 lx hatch had moon/sunroof in it. I wouldnt ever get another mustang with one because it really hurt the rigidity of the top of the car. Also on a 91 there was no cover you could pull so that during the summer the sunlight just nailed you the whole time.

I'm not really going to race the car at all (outside of smoking ricers off the line at stoplights). I'm buying the Mustang because of the name and the looks, that and it's the only car on my dreamlist I could afford (The Jag & Viper are a ways down the road!). That and I'm 23 so I want that sporty car that is fun to drive, before I hit my 40's and settle on the more luxury classed cars.

Curious, are you going for the V6 or GT?

In the chops section I saw a chop with a targa top...now that was hot, just not sure how it would look with the top on...the T's didn't look bad either though... I think if there was a sunroof it would have to be a small one or it would have to pop up and out...and that's not worth it either.. just my opinion

I personally like the moonroof/sunroof for the extra light and air that it gives the driver. Namely the extra sunlight I get... Not so much because the dealerships or automakers say so.

Funny, I could have written that post myself. I'm 23 and buying the Mustang for the same reason. I don't plan on racing it,

Right now I'm looking at the V6 for many reasons besides interest... I'll save in the ballpark of $6,000 total cost if I went the V6 route. Adding to the cost quotiant is the minor edge the V6 gives in fuel economy (20/29 vs 17/25 on current model) and with gas prices averaging around $1.90 a gallon here (and stations are raising the price again)...
Last, but not least, is the fact that I like to look of the V6 A LOT more then the look of the GT. The ques are minor, but all the GT has that I want is that V8 and dual exhaust.
But my Insurance has the ultimate call on this one

HEY I still like sporty cars youngster
j/k!
I had a feeling that little note was going to be miss-read a bit... But everyone understands what it's like to have your first muscle car to go crusing around in if you know where I'm going? :drive:

Okay... Maybe I should have said I don't want it to be my midlife crisis car.
j/k!

They dropped sequential turn signals several months ago, and it's been more than 15 years since Ford offered a sunroof on Mustang.

If this site is correct (...umm...*since* this site is correct) in listing that Delphi is handling the stereo in the new Mustang, I should think that there's a good chance that it will be satellite ready. Isn't Delphi one of the pioneer groups in this market?

I have to comment on the 40 thing-- I'm buying one BECAUSE I'm in my forties! I've had 4 Mustangs over the years, then got away from them due to the size -- we needed more space. But not anymore! We have an Excursion that solves any space issues. This Mustang (Windveil Blue GT etc..) is finally for me! Can't wait! I'm driving my dealer absolutely nuts! Thank goodness we buy all our vehicles from him, or he'd run the other way when he saw me coming!
Here's a question for anyone who might know - do you think there is a way to add a cassette player to the radio system in the Mustang? It is the one and only option that I just don't like not having. Thanks

So many 40 somethings I feel like a baby on here.
I personally am going to take out the actual deck... So I'm split on buying one with the Shaker 1000 for the speakers and swapping out the deck, or getting a basic Shaker 500 and replacing everything.
But the stereo deck that is used for the Shaker is so painfully BLAND! :notnice:
Now with some of the fantastic things they've done with modern decks I'd rather drop one in that pumps more power and offers some extra eye candy.

The last Mustang I owned, I sold when you were 10 years old LOL. At 23, you think you know what you are going to be like when you are 40... I bet you think 40 year olds are old farts, and that you'll be an old fart too at 40.
Maybe I am an old fart. And old fart who drives harder and rocks harder than most 30 year olds. And don't get me started about what I was like when I was 23.

OK.....I 'm going to pay for this B) I'm 59 and feel that the "Luxury" cars are for "Fogys and Fogy wannabe's". Age is in your head (Mostly)
