Sold my stock 05 Mustang GT for modded 2006 GT w/pics !

Hey everyone ! I'm finally posting pics of my 2006 Torch Red GT that I purchased this past summer after selling my 2005 GT which was pretty much completely stock with the exception of cold air intake and Bama tunes..

My new 2006 GT has barely over 8k original miles on her and was well taken care of by the original owner in which I've known for quite a few years from my local car cruise events here in the Pittsburgh area..

During the period in which he owned the car.. He had the car modified and started out by having one of our local Ford dealerships install a Saleen S/C along with FRPP 4:10 gears and then shortly afterwards had the rest of the car modified professionally by a shop that installed Eibach pro kit lowering springs and remaining other parts as well..

After owning the car since 2006.. He ended up purchasing a new 2014 GT500 this past summer and decided to trade in the 06 for it.. So when I found out the 06 became available, I went ahead and sold my 05 to purchase the car..

Anyway, I'd really like to get your feedback/opinions as to whether I made the right choice by upgrading to the 2006 GT.. Or was I better off holding onto my previous 2005 GT instead ?

In the meantime, here's some pics of the 06 GT..

Congrats on your new GT! Definitely sounds like a big upgrade from your '05, considering this '06 has such a low miles, is well taken care of, and supercharged!

Do you know if the engine is built & stroked? Just curious about the 5.0 emblem on the front fender.

Hope the new ride treat you well!

It's all a personal choice. Some folks love 'mods', others don't want them. You certainly bought a sweet looking low mileage example, unless it's been used 1/4 mile at a time. What did your '05 have for miles?

Thank you Lynn.. I really don't have any regrets although I was the original owner of my previous 2005 that I sold to get my current 2006..

But being that I know the original owner of my 06 GT.. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to get the car when it became available as all the modified parts were professionally installed and I also knew how well he took care of the car as well..

So I don't have any regrets as my current 2006 is a huge upgrade compared to my previous 2005 GT and also saved me a ton of money in the process as all the mods I had planned on doing with the 05 GT were already done on my current 06 GT

Thank you Shane ! As for the engine ? It was not built & stroked and my guess for the original owner putting 5.0 badges on was I assume he figured that after having the Saleen S/C installed that the car would put out nearly as much HP as the current 5.0 coyote has now..

At any rate, the 5.0 badges do not belong on the car and I'll be replacing them with either 281 badge emblems or order a pair of OEM GT badges instead

My only regret is that I was the original owner of my previous 05 GT which was also factory ordered but that regret has been fading as the current 06 is definitely a huge upgrade and will also save me a ton of money when it comes to future mod upgrades.. That's providing of course if I decide to do any further one's down the road..

As far as I know, the original owner used the car on just one occasion as a track car but never abused the car and took very well care of it, otherwise I would had not purchased it to begin with.. I've also known the original owner for many years from my local car cruise events in which he always brought the car to them.. So I was very familiar with it from the very start..

Anyway, my previous 2005 GT had close to 32k original miles when I sold it..

There are also pics of the 05 GT on my profile.. Just go to images and you'll see 13 of them posted there..

The 5.0 badges are coming off, as they don't belong on the car.. I'll be replacing them with either OEM GT badges or with 281 emblems instead !

m05fastbackGT,

Oh okay, I was just curious if there was more to the car. I think 281 badges would be sweet. I think this car deserves to sport a special emblem, since it's so heavily modded and in mint condition. It's already an eye catcher for sure. Might as well top it off with a clean set of 281 badges!

I really like those chrome bullitts, the black stripes and the nicely detailed engine bay. Car looks great !!!!! Very clean !

You saved a lot of money by buying a car with the mods on. S/C's are not inexpensive.

My car is N/A and does not make big power but I am much happier then when it was stock. But then again I can't remember leaving any car that I have owned as it came from the factory.

Thank you for the kind words and compliments as i normally wouldn't buy a car that was heavily modified by somebody other than myself or having a shop do it for me.. But as I mentioned before, I know who the original owner was and how well he took care of the car prior to purchasing it..

And like you posted, I most definitely saved a lot of money buying the car as I don't have to worry about putting tons of money into modifying it now..

As your absolutely correct.. S/C's are not inexpensive at all to say the very least and if I would had kept my previous 05 GT ? It would've cost far more money in doing the mod upgrades myself or have a shop install them professionally..

So that's when I decided to sell the 05 for the current 06 GT I have now

She looks beautiful I would say nice upgrades considering all the power/performance bolt-ons! A year newer and fewer miles what's not to like! Congrats!
