Thumbs up

Looking for opinions. What Mustang magazines are best for good general 05 Mustang reading articles, 05 Exterior and Performance modifications articles. I realize none are going to be dedicated just to 05 & up models, so late models are fine. As much as I love the late 60 & early 70 models, I can't afford buying and restoring them, so restoring focused magazines I wouldn't be interested in. Is Mustang Monthly any good ?

Lets hear your opinions. Thanks !!!

It depends on what you're looking for and what direction you want to take your car.
Mustang Monthly=mostly 65-73 and some late maodel
5.0 Mustang=late model, ALL drag racing
Muscle Mustangs (MMFF)=late model, ALL drag racing, TONS of ads
Mustang Enthusiast=mostly late model w/ a lot of '05 coverage, geared more toward the "everday" Mustang guy

Years ago. And I mean years ago, I subscribed to Mustang Monthly.
I thought it to be the best Mustang magazine out there.
It's too bad that it only covers up to '73. Great how to articles.

This place.

Honestly, I have no need for magazines since the advent of the web.

Also, North American motor publications generally s**k. Europeans have the best.

I like all of the above that you listed. As far as Mustang Monthly only covering up to a certain year, thats not correct. The current Mustang Monthly I have has an entire section devoted to '05 performance parts. I'm sure in the next few months more and more '05 articles etc will pop up.

uhhmm they are all the same company, just different periodicals, and so far with regards to the 05 each of them have devoted the same amount of attention (and in fact some of the same articles being republished in each witha slight edit to make it look different), but lets face it the publisher isnt stupid they realize that its the hottest thing out right now and the magazines will be pumped full of info on the 05 as they get it, heck thats why all the other mags uncluding the ones usually devoted to european and asian cars have the new 05 in it, everyone wants to know about it, best suggestion if you are going to rely on the mags for info is to go to the magazine rack and browse each and pick out wich one has what you are looking for that month, lately Ive been going back and forth between MM&FF and 5.0 but read all of them, just not to miss anything, Barnes and Noble is great, how do they sell anything especially with a Star Bucks inside.

I usually stick to MM&FF and 5.0....I personally like 5.0 layout a little better though.

I have found (as I just dipped into the magazine purchasing market over the past year) that for shher amount of '05 info, 5.0 Mustang and Fast Fords (or whatever the full title is) has been the best for me. I just got a subscription $12 for a year!

I agree that years ago, Mustang Monthly was THE Mustang magazine, but maybe they're trying to spread themselves too thin. For stock 65-73 coverage, they're still the best.

rrobello, uhhmm, no, they are not ALL the same company. Mustang Enthusiast is an Amos Automotive publication and probably part of the reason it stands out as the better Mustang magazine. You won't see the exact same articles in it as are printed and then copied in the others.

I think Brad should start the first Mag exclusive to the 05+ Mustang. I want a mag with more then just drag racing. From the Grand-AM racing coverage so far it looks like the Mustang is quite the road racer if setup correctly.

Try Mustang Enthusiast. No drag racing and I think they've coverd the Grand-Am racing. Their articles are geared more toward road racing wich applies more to everyday "performance" driving.

I can tell you honestly that one of the main reasons we purchased our 2005 GT is that I write for ME (Mustang Enthusiast) and to those who have the cars go the paid work...

And yes, I do like their coverage, and we do stick to the "average guy / road race" crowd more than the straight-line stuff. It's just the direction the magazine had to go to stand out in a pile of other 5.0 magazines that were already established.
