So... this is what I came up with...

As some of you may know who read my previous thread I added a Ford Racing CAI after installing a CDC Shaker. The problem I had was trying to figure out how to connect the shaker cold air flow to the newly installed CAI.

This is what I came up with. Sorry but I don't have step by step photos. I was in a hurry to get it done for a cruise in tomorrow.

1st... I went to O'Reilly's and bought this for $20.00.

I then took the CDC part that goes into the original air box and cut it in half and used the bottom half that snaps into the air box.
I drilled a 3" hole into the CAI and inserted the part into the CAI.

I cut off about an inch of the cold air feed that comes from the CDC Shaker to give me some bending room. I cut the flex hose to length I purchased from O'Reilly's and then clamped everything down.

Very creative, one side note here. I always align my hoses clamps in uniform, notice the factory clamp is on the back side of the duct work. Simply turn your clamps to the backside for a clean and more OEM factory look. Well thought out modification here.

Hmm, if it was me I would have taken the output of the scoop directly to a filter and into the intake. Not even included the airbox at all......or blocked sealed it off from the outside.

I agree with you 100% and it will be corrected. When I put the two clamps on at the bottom it wasn't on the car at the time and I didn't give it much thought about how the clamps were facing. After I got everything together one of my first thoughts was that I needed to reposition all the clamps. I was tired and decided to do it at a later time... it's on my to-do list.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I really appreciate it.

I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. Please elaborate.

He's talking about eliminating the airbox completely, just run the car on the scoop alone through some straight through air filter... which doesn't exist, that I know of...

In any event, the car can't be run without the airbox, as the scoop alone isn't enough flow to feed the engine. At least by running it into the airbox, that air can now be used instead of wasted into the engine cavity.

And may I also complement you on the work, it looks very good!

WOW! That's insane. One of the reasons I got the Ford Racing CAI is because it seals around the top and the air is fed more into the CAI filter and not wasted blowing in to the engine cavity.

Thanks for the complement... I did put quite a bit of thought into it.

Am I thinking right that the saleen supershaker feeds through a filter directly into the throttle body?

I don't see a practical way to use the normal shaker though since you have to deal with the mas and getting things tuned properly.
