I went 5 months and 6 days and thought I couldnt handle another day, but when you see your car for the first time you kinda forget about the sleepless nights....LOL

I am really surprised that your dealer even let you order a 2005. You should read the "sticky" post from Karpro. Supposedly, at least 7,000 exisiting GT orders will not get built.

 

NuPony05, the order will get bumped to a 2006. I'm almost postive of this.

 

They will not automatically bump and '05' order to '06', you will have to re-order for the '06' MY.

 

I'll probably be ordering on Saturday, Sonic Blue GT Premium with DC interior. Think i'll end up having to order an 06?

I can handle the wait, it's for the wife and I already have a fun car

Good luck, but I think you probably should be ordering an 06. The 06 order banks open up 5/16/05. I've been told by my salesman that my 2/16/05 order may not get built as an 05. If you want an 06 you will have to reorder after 5/16/05. The orders don't rollover because of different colors, options, etc. When you order make sure you go to a dealer that has good allocation numbers if you want it sooner rather than later.

 

Stu.... Start searching the countryside for the car that clones your ordered one, and if you find it at the right price, grab a plane ticket & go get it.......then you know it'll be an '05.

Oh trust me, I have been. I live in Arizona and for the past month ever week I have searched every city with a pop greater than about 10,000 for all of AZ, CA, NV, UT, CO, NM, and TX on forddirect.com. In the past month I have only found 1 car that was exactly what I wanted. I called the dealership and they had some god aweful 20" rims on it and were marking the price up by $5,000.

The dealership input the order as an 05 but they told me that Ford will probably tell them in a couple weeks that they will have to change it to an 06, which means I'll probably be waiting until Oct or Nov.

I'll keep looking though, although it's hard to find a place that doesn't charge over MSRP.

 

By the way, what do I need to know in order to call in and check the status of my order? I have the internal order number that my dealership uses, but I'm guessing the national database uses something else? Also, what's the phone number?

After 3288 hours, I finally got my phone call this morning telling me I get an 05 scheduled to be built next week! I wasn't expecting it until July sometime, and was expecting to have to settle for an 06...Almost time for some 05 bananas for me!

My dealer just called me and someone backed out of an order that hadn't been serialized yet, so he's going to put it in with my specs today. I'm going down Saturday to pick up the buildsheet.

I am waiting to. I ordered mine 29 April through military car sales. I have to go back and add the 2006 info. 242 Days left!!
