So after combing the online inventories daily for several weeks for all GT's within a half day's driving distance I finally just decided to go down to a local dealer and place an order.

05 GT, Mineral Gray with dark charcoal interior. Only options ordered were IUP and Active anti-theft. Salesman said they would accept my X-plan.

Supposed to get it officially ordered on Monday. Their best guess is 8-10 weeks.

Test drove a silver GT that they have for rent. It was an auto. Couldn't really get a good feel for it in city traffic.

Also took a look at a beautiful Mineral Gray Roush 05 GT. Just couldn't justify $35K for a GT with two-tone leather, different gauges, different rear spoilers front and rear, and a few more HP. It was sweet though.

Let the waiting begin....

 

good luck hopefully all goes well for you. id welcome you to the wait but im recently out of it. but take it from me. the wait is soooooooooo worth it.

 

welcome to the waiting game. did you ask your dealer about his allotment.
an order that can't be filled is worthless.

 

When I picked mine up yesterday, my dealer only can have 11 filled until the 06 comes out, they have 63 on order. They have to start calling people Monday to see if they want 06's or canx their orders. Mine was on order for four months....

No, I didn't think to ask, but that's a good point. I'll ask on Monday when he calls me back with the info. They did say they had 22 on order, and it's a large volume dealer.

Good Luck Wardog. I ordered my GT on March 1st. I am the only GT on order through this dealership, and my priority is 14. I don't really know what that means, but I stopped by today (March 19) and was told that there was no word on the order. I got my DORA a long time ago, but today they admitted that it was possible that the order could get "kicked", or not built until '06. My salesman did not think that that would happen, but admitted it was possible. To those with more knowledge, if I am #1 in line, with a priority of 14, will be car likely be built as an '05?
