I don't put mine "away for the winter"...don't think that's really necessary in the Midlantic or lower Northeast. Just keep it inside until the salt is gone

Good eye, it's actually a retired horse ranch. I hadn't really made the connection of the pony being put in a stable, but it sure seems appropriate.

I just rent the spot for the winter. The rest of the vehicles aren't mine. She's in there with some pretty good company (notwithstanding the pick-up truck). Several '60's vintage classics and a mix of late model 'summer' cars.

They work great! I park in it every night and wrap up over the winter. I only wish I got the wider one. Not a lot of room to open the doors!

Won't the plastic cover trap in moisture, etch the paint? Or do you have a cloth cover under the plastic tarp?

I have car cover under the tarp. No moisture problems at all under the tarp either. It's probably overkill wrapping it up like that, but i'd rather over do it and be safe. Plus being in the woods, wrapping it like that helps keep the critters out of it! I had a mouse living in the engine bay last summer. Airbox was loaded with acorns. Don't want that again.

I never could put a car away for the winter, including this one. Of course, I don't drive it while it's snowing (that's what my wife's GMC is for), but as soon as I can see blacktop on the roads, I'm out!

My baby was safe inside for our Christmas Eve 2009 Blizzard, a total of 11 inches with drifts over 3 feet. My poor Sport Trac on the other hand... Keep in mind we live in north Texas where we get MAYBE .5 to 1 inch of snow a season, if any at all, and snow shovels are a novelty. Needless to say the roads took days to clear. Thanks to a neighbor with a tractor and blade, our driveway was cleared off Christmas day, although the road was impassable.

I want to play too.

Here is my new 2009 being tucked away for winter. Finally the '99 becomes the winter beater :P

My brother's 2000 GT parked behind my '99 in the cold:

Brought her out today for the first time in almost two weeks. It's dang cold, but it's not suppose to do anything bad until tomorrow.

The UK is currently sitting under another blanket of snow, which is pretty much unheard of, especially in the South.

Here's my daily driver BMW......she hasn't moved in a couple of days. Good job I can work remotely!

I hear you... and even though things a bit more mild this season, we have still had plenty of white stuff and getting hit again today with 6 to 10 in.

Man, do I like having heated garages

we are getting another dusting of snow here tonight as i type this. only expected 1-2 inches. still the cars setting inside all nice and clean. i do feel bad for the folks in the midwest and upper mid-north where wind chills are close to -50 below. that will freeze the you know what off anyone. also, im glad i dont live in Fulton, NY from what i have read they have over 56 inches of snow and hasnt stopped snowing since dec 26. talk about a long winter storm....can you say hybernation??
zipperhead - i work with a guy who lived close to Oswego and remembers "walls" of snow like yours. he will get a kick when i show him the picture....he laughs at our "dustings" down here in MD
