Snow tire size?

I'm looking to get snow tires for the stock 18" rims (Polished), what size can I get? Can I get tires that are a bit thinner for snow, or maybe taller? I don't find many in the stock size of 235/50/18 (If I remember correctly) I know thinner is better for snow, but I'm overly familiar on how tire size work out when you change a dimension. I'm not worried about speedo since I have a tuner.

Thanks!!!

The first number in tire size is width. So if you want a slightly narrower tire, go with a 225/50. The second number is a percentage value. So with the previous example, not only with the tire be skinnier, but also a tad shorter overall. So to keep similar or taller height, you would need to increase the 2nd number. IE: 225/55.

I think the stock 18" wheels are 8.5" wide. So i wouldn't go too much thinner then a 225 width.
