snow car......
snow car......
Well the last few winters have been kinda calm around here, and my Mustang has done well, till today.... I guess that when theres 16 inches of snow on the road, the underside kinda gets high centered. any ways made it to work, then 45 minutes later, we get send home, and I got stuck trying to get into my drive way
. an hour later its now safe in the garage. When I was entering my drive way, I kinda got it sideway's. then when I tried to get out of my drive way, I got high centered on the snow burm I had just shoveled this AM. Any ways the car is safe in the garage now. I have more on my phone, but I dont know how to get them off of my phone, and on to here.

In the Winter, I put on my Bridgestone Blizzaks. We don't get many really heavy storms (at least the ones that I go out in) but I got caught once and they really pulled my through. I also change the Bama tune to the 87 performance as it doesn't make sense when your running snow's!
yup stock pirellie's (sp) with 15,000 miles on em. Sorry, but its my daily driver, so yup I drive it, its no garage/ trailer Queen. it was funny this AM when I was stuck in the school parking lot, ( I work there, not go there ) I was asking one of the grounds people to give me a push to get out of the parking lot, well the 'car nanny' was on, and he kept telling me to 'gun it', so I turned of the TC, and let her rip, all I could see was blowing snow, the blower whinning, and the grounds guy covered is rubber/ snow
. After I got unstuck, I said thanks and headed home to get stuck again!!!!!!

Getting ready for tomorrow. Put the sand bags in tonight. Snow tires would be nice too.
DD present as well. I got stuck 20 feet from my driveway last year. I made it 28 miles from work, only to get stuck 20 feet from my stinking driveway. Me and the wife went out at midnight (when I finally arrived home) with shovels to dig a path to get to the driveway. Needless to say, I go the car into the driveway and that was all....no further.
I was supposed to be in to work the next day at 7am, and called in because they had still not plowed the subdivision, and it snowed another 3 inches that night. Bad night for the DD Mustang.
P.S. that was also the night that my e-brake cable froze solid at work, so it took me about an hour to thaw it out and drive it home. When it rains, it pours.

Hey Tim, glad see someone of you warm weathered guys getting this midwest weather
It is heading our way now as they are projecting 8 to 12 inches by tomorrow. Good thing my Mustang is not my DD

I started switching back to the OEM wheels / tires after my first drive with the F1's in the white stuff!
) Here's the link: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...mparison_testsYou get a significant improvement in performance with a winter tire over the stock all seasons, especially with braking. We don't get that much snow here most of the time, but we have steep hills and poor removal. When I lived in NE Ohio, I would drive mustangs through the winter with all seasons and no issues because they actually plow the roads there. Here, they plow the interstates because of federal support, but get off the highway and it's hit or miss. Remember the bus that slid down a downtown street in Seattle and just about fell onto I-5 last year? They didn't want to use deicer cause it might kill a couple of salmon. This year their putting down deicer like crazy and there's no snow yet. Guess they figured out that salmon don't sue.

I'm impressed with the mustang in the snow. With appropriate tires, it can motivate on all but uphill on glare ice. I find that going up hill, the tc off is better and I rely on the limited slip diff. Flat and moderate hills and curves, tc on helps to keep the rear end in line if it starts to slip out.
