Is there going to be an aftermarket item that will allow us to make the back side windows have the scoop affect like on the original fast back mustangs? I see people photoshop those in to their pictures, and they look amazing.

Can someone photoshop a yellow '05 mustang with those side scoops on the windows?

:worship: Thanks

If you're talking about the louvers then I'd say there's an excellent chance the aftermarket will provide for ya

Are they louvers? My bad. Looks like a plastic piece that covers the side windows to make them look like the fast back mustangs. Either way, I like a lot. I hope they are available.

There have been pictures with both types (louvers and side window scoops).

I'm still trying to decide which I like better. Right now (my opinion has changed a few times already) I would go with the louvers. They give the car a great look, and the scoops, although good looking, are non functional, and they stick out farther than louvers.

I'm not saying louvers are functional, only that they fit better in the window.

It's funny how history repeats or unravels itself!

When I had my 66 fastback (1981-85), what many people wanted for their fastback was Shelby lookalike glass to replace the louvers. Now that we have the Shelby lookalike glass, some people want the louvers!

I wish the back seat flipped down flatter, much like the 66.

So, don't worry, the aftermarket will respond if there are enough people who want the change.

You have to remember that 97% of the Mustang drivers out there won't even find this board, and 90-95% of those won't modify their cars. That doesn't leave as much money on the table for the aftermarket as you would think.... it's still a HUGE business, but risky for the individual aftermarket shop.

Just like when a LOT of 1963 Stingray owners modified their 'split-window' coupes by removing the center bar and replacing it with '64 glass :bang:

if u cover up those windows be sure to get those blind spot mirrors or u will probably be running people off the road left and right... especially motorcycles.

What I'd think I'd like to see is some chrome or bright aluminum or other shiny material trim to surround the back windows.

I do like the windows there, but they need something else... They kinda look like the side of the car was cut open and the windows were just glued in. They're flush, sure, but there's this gap around them that make them look sorta unfinished.

I'm sure I'll get used to it though. Or, I wont, and I'll do something about it.

REAR louvers- THAT would be cool on the 05

I had an 81 camaro in another life- that was the only cool thing on it.

Can someone post a pic of the louvers and the scoop, so I can see the difference?

I saw an '03/'04 Mach 1 with rear louvres. I thought they looked rediculous and out of place.

The Louvres I had on my '79 Cobra looked cool, but, they rattled, were hard to clean and hard to see well out of.

they both look really schweet.

i think the louvers keep the smooth run along the side of the car, but the scoop breaks it up nicely with a topographic change. very tough decision. it looks like the louvers in the 'motor trend' pic are part of the body, no seam. it would be nice to have that, but it may be tougher to get that with an aftermarket snap-on type of thing.

nice chops to their artists.

You can get louvers or scoops for the SN-95 bodies from aftermarket now, so it won't be long before they are available for the 05+.
