Bah! The Hummer H2-like shifter for the automatic model Mustangs is much better looking than all three for the manuals. Combined.

I like IUP. Pre-Production is too much silver for me. I like the mixed, black/silver

Pre-production: too bling-bling and cheesy.

Regular: kinda bland.

IUP: Just right, nice bit of brushed metal is a classy contrast to the black of the rest of it. Looks like a nice, tight shifter -- presumably the reality will confirm as I'd like to have a Stang that shifts with the lightness, tight precision and quickness of an M3 or Miata.

IUP. i like the chrome, but there isn't so much it'd burn a diagram of the shift pattern into the palm of my hand. a-la raiders of the lost arc.

B)

besides...i think it just looks nice.

Aesthetics aside, wouldn't that chrome one get slipperier than a wet eel in the sweaty-palmed heat of competition?

I can't wait to see what the aftermarket brings out for the shifter.

rhumb, just sat in the 05 and flew threw the gears a few times. Very precise, short throws. Not at all like the current stangs. You'll like it a lot.

I chose the pre-production shifter, but it really doesn't matter to me cuz I do plan on replacing the stock one with a nicer aftermarket shifter when I get my stang. If you really want to know.....I'd pick the Roush shifter, cuz it looks like a classic Hurst shifter from a 65/66 stang....now thats both retro and modern like the 05.

I like the IUP **** a lot. The black on black and full chrome just don't look right IMO.

preproduction, I can live with the raiders of the lost ark amulet since it seems to work the best, that phallic device which is supposed to be ergonomically correct is two steps back.

I replaced the stock shifter ball on my 02 after stripping the handle out on a few quick shifts with a bullet knock off, granted, all I have to do is hold my right hand up to the mirror when I forget the shift pattern, but for 99.9999999999% of the rest of the time, that ball is way better than the old banna shifter.
