3 in each door - woofer, mid and tweeter and 2 in rear deck = 8

they count the mid/tweet combo as 2 separate speakers

If I had to do it over again I wouldn't have got the Shaker 500. Instead I would have got a deluxe Stang and added leather so I can get the basic system. The woofers in the door aren't worth the hassle of trying to upgrade. Its better to get better speakers in the four corners and put subs in the trunk. Not sure what your looking for speaker wise but thats my two cents.

my shaker 500 is plenty enough for me.Do the subs (1000) make the stang rattle??i hate it when I can hear someone's car rattling at a stop light because of BASS. :notnice:

That's the right way to do it.

Mine does

I hate the rattle too. And don't worry, this thing's never at full blast... not my thing really.

Subs in the trunk do not rattle as they are mounted to a steel plate - which is then bolted to the car --- 10 Audiophile speakers -- incl. 4 subwoofers -- one one each door -- and the two in the trunk ... i have heard of some having a slight rattle -- this is the trunk latch cover - and some spray foam takes care of it.....

If you are useing the Shacker1000 should you have the back seat folded down so you can hear the speakers better from the trunk? And will they sound better,,,,If I was into RAP the speakers in the trunk would sound great i am sure but for rock there is too much bass ,so I leave the shacker off.Unless someone knows better what i should be doing lol.JohnnyT

good idea to put back set down -- it amplifies the bass, though -- or you can leave the Shaker Unit on and set the Bass level to around 30 % -- this works well for me for everyday -- as any higher ant the whole hood is gonna hear my 50 Cent ---
