I'm going to place an order any day now, but I'm still undecided about one option and that is the radio. My wife and I would like to be able to take trips in the stang, but if I get the shaker 1000 there might not be enough trunk space to travel. Has anyone attempted to remove the subs? If they are easily removable, then I think that answers my question. If not, then I'm still undecided. If you have looked into this, then please let me know what you have found.

Sure haven't tried to remove them - but I will tell you what - there is actually a decent amount of room back there with them in there - the trunk is 'deeper' than you think. Add in dropping the rear seats, and as long as you aren;t traveling with kids, you are good to go.

4 bolts hold them in place. Once you remove the sub enclosure you will see the 2 amps mounted to another rack behind it.
So easily removable...no! and you wouldn't gain much space. Perhaps 6" because the amps are still there.
