Serious Drag Racers Only (Wheel/Tire Ques)

I'm looking to purchase a pair of wheels and tires to be used at the drag strip only. What size wheel should I go with? 15's?? 16's?? As for the tires, I've run Hoosier Quick Time Pro DOTs and M/T E/T Streets on my IROC-Z for years and love the hook on both.

I'll be running my Whippled GT when the weather cools down around November. I told myself years ago that I would NEVER run any car again on street tires simply because of the frustration level of either bogging or spinning (and much slower short times), I am holding true to my word.

Also, any recommendations on line locks? I need to be able to do burnouts similar to my Camaro. Oh yeah, is it possible to have a "second" rev limiter? I need this to limit my engine speed when doing burnouts.

Thanks all..!

For tires/wheels, do a search in the GT section. You'll find a lot of good info.
I'm using a stock set of wheels with M/T ET Streets.

As for the line locks, Check out PMP's website. I see alot of guys running theirs.

I went with 17X9's with M&H 325/45/17's. Coilovers in the back dropped 1.5 inches with Lakewood 50/50 drag shocks. PI 3300 converter, 4.10 gears. Have a CHE UCA and some LCA's. Best 60' time 1.505---this set up works.

I went with 17's because I didn't want to spend the major money on Bogarts for 15", plus M&H made a great 28tall DR for the 17.

Line lock--Moto Blue makes a great, simple kit with the lines already prebent for you. I installed mine in about an hour. Been using mine for close to a year now, no problems. How about this for a burnout:

Thanks for the info. I'm curious why you went with a tire that is one-inch taller than the stock height. Tire size availability or something else?

Where did you buy the Moto Blue line lock? I tried their website and couldn't get past their intro page..... don't know why.

GIJoe???
