how much do you guys think these are worth? i can run them off pretty quick, whos interested in a pair?

they really work great and i think they look good too. i really debated painting them black.

any way i figured i would make a fix for having to reach for that dang seat belt all the way back at the wheel wells!!!

Only problem I see is for tall people like myself. That strap being held so low on the seat would choke me, and having to remove the belt from the holder every time, then replacing it, would be too much of a hassle. Also, I don't really want a hard piece of metal right next to my neck in the event of a side collision.

the retainers on the 08's are different. they are just ratcheting extensions that come off the pillar.

this retainer holds the belt right against your shoulder... i had problems with the belt rubbing on my neck and usually had to flip my collar up to block it, but with these they hold it down and away and firm against your shoulder, not neck.... but with taller people im not sure exactly how they would fit.


they kind of remind me of the seat belts in newer silverados, the way the seat belt comes right out of the seat by your shoulder, i always loved the way the belt rides right there.

 

I'll try 'em. I couldn't begin to tell you what they're worth - I have no clue what it costs to make them What I can tell you is that whatever it is, it's likely I'll pay it (see why below).

Myself I wouldn't want black anyway, as my interior is that light gray color. But yeah, they'd be better black with the black seats.

Amen to that. I ruptured every single one of my cervical discs 1 1/2 yrs ago. Escaped surgery with lots of rehab, but reaches like that absolutely KILL my neck. Not a good way to start every day

Um, how the heck do I get my headrest off?

 

on the bottom of the post, where it slides into the plastic, there is a little hole where you have to push a pin in and it will release that side... the other side just has the button on it.

 

I am trying to settle on a decent price on these.....

how does $25 shipped sound? i plan to make more than needed for the TMS members and Ebay some more of these, obviously for more than what you guys are getting them for.

any opinions are greatly appreciated.

My only other question would be whether or not it would interfere with the side air bag deployment? I've never seen one deployed so I don't know if the top of the side of the seat is involved?

 

Those are a lawsuit waiting to happen. You won't catch me putting anything metal anywhere that mine or my passenger's heads might wind up in the event of an accident. Especially not something small enough to fit into an eye socket.

Ya know Nate as much as I want these, this (product liability) is something you might want to consider before offering them to the general public, especially ebay. I for one would never consider a lawsuit if something happened, but when you're dealing with the general public and their a-hole lawyers who knows what would happen. Just something to think about....

Regarding their relative safety, heck if they were plastic, plastic can break and become sharp and poke my eye out too. Besides, if I'm hit hard enough that something comes far enough into my car with enough force to actually bend that thing far enough to cut into my head or neck, I'm dead anyway because it would have hit my seat with that same force too. How's that for a looooong sentence?!

i will have to come up with a legal disclaimer for these if people want to buy them. honestly i dont see any problems with these.... they should not hinder the belt in any way. i was thinking that if an accident were to happen the aluminum would probably just bend out of the way and allow the belt to take its normal shape in a crash any way....

i dont see them breaking off or causing any extra trouble in a crash situation. honestly the belt retainer should be the last thing to worry about in that type of situation.

i will come up with a disclaimer though....
