so if a 05 mustang shows up in their inventory, does that mean they have one on the lot, or they have one scheduled?

Only a V6 but still it shows in inventory. And yes if it shows in inventory then it is on the lot, otherwise false advertising.

Here is a GT.

Just called a local dealer that showed a v6 in inentory, they said it wasn't there yet. He said that it's in transit, and it would be here withing 14 days.

I think they are populating the database as we speak, cause I tried my zip code o few minutes ago and a specific dealership showed no results, now I just tried it again, and a V6 shows up!

As soon as the vehicles leaves the factory Ford usually updates the web site to show in inventory. The good news is they are on their way.

I did as well. None in yet but I assume those are the ones in transit that are showing up. At any rate, it's great news.

Not necessarily corect. I have made deposits on vehicles past (GM vehicles....gag!) that were showing up in the dealer inventory but had not yet arrived. In fact, I believe is it quite common for cars to show up in dealer inventories as soon as they've been released from the plant.

just my .02 EDIT: and everyone elses, it would seem

I believe that the vehicles are FOB AAI, so that means they've passed title to the dealer and even though they are in the dealer inventory, that inventory happens to be on a train or a trailer.
