Question Which SE Should I Buy

I am leaning heavily towards the PJ. I have wanted a Boss since the rumors in 03 started. I also wanted it to be Grabber Orange. It is alot of $$$ though for a car that will be an OCCAISIONAL driver, but is ultra-rare and signed by PJ and Steve Saleen.

The Shel is ALOT of car for the $ (if/when I can buy one for D-Plan). A couple of minor mods and you are deep into the 11's, and I would actually drive it.

The 09 Boss is still up in the air as far as content is concerned. If Ford doesn't make one or if it falls short, I will be disappointed I passed the chance to buy the PJ, which is a nearly perfect representation of the Boss legend. I would drive the 09 and would likely mod it to my taste, unlike the PJ, which I believe should stay untouched.

Feel free to add $.02 and/or ask me questions. I value the knowledge and opinions on this board.

Looks like you don't wanna wait for Shelby or Boss, so I guess Saleen would be best choice for you.

Although my choice would be Roush Stage 3.

I'd wait for the Boss unless you absolutely can't wait, the I'd go for the Shelby. Mustangs are meant to be driven so you'd get alot more out of one you can mod and have fun in!

I should add that My wife has an 05 (which we will be keeping) as well as a twin-turbo(almost) 89 GT Vert and a 79 Pace Car (long term resto project) so I have plenty of cars to drive and mod if that is what I want to do.

Driving the car is only a part of this complicated puzzle...

PJ Saleen is the pick of the litter. You will be the only one at cruise night with one. Very cool car.

Left out the Bullitt, too - though all indications are that it will be underwhelming.

Personally, I think the Saleens are overpriced for what you get. That kind of money puts you into Corvette territory...which will run circles around even a GT500.

I would probably take a wait-and-see approach. For bang-for-the-buck, nothing beats the "humble" GT.

My wife has a "humble" GT...I want something more "special", which a Corvette, while a great car, is not. The Bullitt, by all accounts, will be a dud from a performance standpoint. I tend to agree that the Saleens are overpriced, but in the case of the PJ, besides the built short block, ported heads, cams, interior, exterior, etc., can you put a price on a 1 of 500 car signed by SS and PJ?

(also note: I will get a decent discount on the PJ if I get one)

P.S. Remember to vote in the poll...

From what I've read of the Boss, that would be my choice. I'm guessing the availability is going to be just as or nearly as rare as the PJ. The PJ would be my second pick. The GT500 just doesn't rock my boat for the money.

If you are buying now, then I would buy the PJ in a heartbeat. Sweet ride!
Though I am a HUGE GT500 fan, I think the ADM makes the car not such a good value.
If you can wait 6 months, I think we'll hear alot more about the Boss, and the GT500 Prices should be Sticker.
That's my final answer, let us all know what you decide to do!
Must stink to be you...

If I had the $$$ I would call up a dealer who hasn't had any luck in selling their PJ Saleen, and get it DX'ed to my store IN A HEARTBEAT!!! Would then have to get my father's trailer to pick her up.

They are only building 500 PJ's...if you are referring to the story in MT that said Ford will build 1000 in 2008, that info has been all but squashed.

Anyone else? This is a tough decision; it sounds like the Boss SE will have a 5.4...
