Scared!!!!

Alright, i'm scared to death. I'm currently Attending the University of the Cumberlands, aka "Harvard on the Hill", located in my hometown Williamsburg, Kentucky. Well anyways Last Saturday Night, somewhere between 12-8 am 18 cars had their tires popped, cars keyed, and some verts roof shredded... Now a few of these where 2005-07 Mustangs... I was gone with some buddies to Tonic, a club in Tennessee... Okay.. I have no custom alarm system.... Factory Alarm.. Should i consider one? What should i do... i can tell you one thing... In the event this happens to me... i'll be sleepin in the dorm parkin lot with .45... waitin on them to do it again! Any Suggestions would be greatful...

Well, never pull a gun unless it IS loaded.

But, back to topic. The best thing you can do is be judicious where you park your car. Don't leave anything valuable in sight. Request extra patrols from campus security. None of that may save you, but just hope for the best. This is why I drive my car so little. I invested in a 91 Integra for my DD.

This was also happening in Lexington a few weeks ago. Not sure what ever came of it because the news only reports the bad things and never resolves anything. But, back when I went to UK, having to park on the street, my car then was beat up pretty good. Your best bet is to get a beater and leave your car at home where it's safe.

having a gun on most U.S. campuses is illegal, however at my old school before the transfer people where doing that and robbing people at knife point, I had my .357 with me always then transfered out

If you seriously want an easy fix...USMC sticker in the rear window and empty holster on the passenger seat. I guarantee they think twice!

for those who actually think its quite harsh to be considering a gun.. please take into consideration, small southern town, mostly rednecks & hillbillies, where the local sheriff department doesn't have enough man power to deal with Chicken Fights...

It's a car, and it can be replaced, or fixed. Hurting some jerk over it isn't a good ideal. There will aways be some jerk who will be jealous, or just stupid. But it's still a thing, not worth killing or dying for. Just my two and a half cents.

Well - best of luck to you. Unfortunately some idiots think doing this type of stuff is really funny. They have no concept of how hard some folks work to have something nice, and how difficult it becomes when your insurance premium goes up because they do 5 grand in damage to it for ships and giggles. (not really ships).

When I was a kid, my Dad came roaring down the hall one night at like 2 am with his gun. Ran outside and shot someone in the leg who had broken into his 69 Chevelle in our driveway. Of course that was 1975, so the cops were like "Great job sir..." Nowadays, you'd probably end up in prison for a couple years, so I'd advise against shooting someone over it. Now ....... a good solid butt kicking - go for it.

I don't think i'll ever understand this. Buy a car you love and then never (or very rarely) enjoy it.

I bought my Mustang to drive it... not collect dust in the garage.

I have my HCA in the state of TN, and it is definately illegal to carry a pistol, loaded or not, on school property and even in state parks. Also, you can not use the pistol to defend property, only your life or anothers, but only in self defense. Yes, the law is restrictive.
