When will Saleen come out with their version of the New Mustang. Has anybody heard anything ?

 

They're unveiling it at some annual owners meet and tour this fall.

 

I am quite certain in September of each year Steve Saleen sponsors a car show at his production facility. Part of the show includes an open house where they give tours of the production facility where they rework the Mustangs. I attended this event on 9/11/99 when production was taking place at their facility in Irving, CA. A neat event as there was also a band playing and food was available at a reasonable cost. The best part was the "burnouts" of various Mustangs cruising around the show until the Cops showed up.

Your reference to the 2005 Saleen Mustang being show at this show supports the information that two different Saleen reps gave me at Nashville. They said something to the effect that the Saleen Mustang would be introduced at about the same time this fall as the regular production Mustang.

BRAD: Any chance that the train car full of Mustangs which burned in L.A. might indeed have been 2005's headed for Saleen. I know they would never be modified and sold to the public. My thought is may be Saleen needs to do crash testing based on replacing the facias and other modifications, and/or might need mules for engine and chassis development. May be they might need some cars for EPA certification based on their mods.
