Can anyone explain to me how they came up with s197 for the new model mustang, why etc? I notice that saleen calls theres a s281 or s281 sc if it is supercharged. Just wondered the significance of this.

"S" stands for Sporty Segment, 197 is the cars number in Ford's product cycle code.

Thanks for the definition, I was just wondering, then why would saleen change it to s281. Are you sayig that this is there 281st project with ford? Just trying to figure it out.

The Saleen S281 designation has nothing to do with Ford product designations. The "S" stands for Saleen and the 281 represents the engine size (4.6L = 281 cubic inches).

In missouri you have to call in, or just go in. They dont have a online site that tells you if it is available. All you can do online is see how it looks on the plate.
