Wow I thought my car was a garage queen with about 8k. You literally never drive that car. Why is the question? You are doing all these mods and your not enjoying the car. I mean it's not like you have bad weather to worry about. Our car will be pretty well put to bed once the rain up here starts but when it is nice in between storms we drive it.

Come on Bill you need to drive that rig.

I only have 3,700 miles myself....in three years....

fyi....I looked up the trade in value for a car with 1,700 miles compared to 10,000 miles....the trade value is the same considering everything else is the same...interesting

When I took delivery of my car the dealer said it's no big deal to put miles on it....even tho I'm only at 3,700.......he said to enjoy the car and don't worry abouyt the miles....

Keeping the miles low for my son. Handing over the reigns to him when he turns 16 (12 now). Just don't want to give him a high mileage, beat up car that's all worn out!

Guys ever notice my plate? Attachment 34548

GTJeff- Your clean engine bay was my inspiration even before I got my GT. I said to myself, "How the heck does he keep his engine bay so clean???".
Now I know.

Will you be my Dad? Although that is way to much car for a 16 year old.JMHO

And I keep my engine bay that clean with lots of work. Not by simply not driving the car.

I never noticed the plates, forgot your son's name was chris. I always though it had something to do with "your own" california special.

Got my first Mustang GT when I was 17.
I'll send Chris to a real driving school first before handing the keys over.

Hey Richard, true.. I don't put many miles on her, but when I do, I don't baby it.

Did not mean any thing negative by what i said Bill. Sorry if it came across that way. One of the things i hate about the whole talking/typing thing.

You sir are a braver man than i letting a 16 year old have a car like this. I have nothing but trust with my kids but at the same time know this is to much car for a young driver. Hell there are enough young adults who can't handle it. The car scares me at times to be honest, but I have driven ttruck most of my life so going to this car was an experiance to say the least. Again IMHO

Even if he is a good driver, those around him at that age aren't going to be. It's a dangerous world out there for the nice cars. High school parking lots are a car's worst nightmare.

Never thought it as negative, it's all good.

I understand about handing over a car with this much power, and if abused, can end up being very bad.
However, I feel that him being around this car for 5+ years, helping install mods (when he can), maintenance, and driving in it, that he'll already be acclimated to this car versus someone who's handed the keys to an unfamiliar car for the first time. Makes any sense?

As far as HS parking lots, can't agree more. Last thing he needs is to get it keyed or door dinged. Chris already told me that he'll take a beater to school and save the Stang for taking the girls out.
