I was lurking on a Corvette forum on Saturday and read about a dealership that let a guy take a new C5 home for the weekend. He bought the car on the following Monday.

In sales, that's called a puppy dog close. Once you take one home, you'll almost never bring it back. Why do you think dealers offer test rides? You don't get to do that with a blender from Wal_Mart.

i dont know about puppy dogs but you'd be lucky to get a 10 minute test ride at most harley dealers... the bikes sell themselves and a lot are bought sight unseen.

That's because people are sheep and pay twice what they should for the HD name =)

Wish the car rentals had bikes too, though. There's a bike rental place near me but they want way too much money and have too many restrictions on distance and time.

i can get any bike for $50 a day... i guess they used to rent to employees for $50 a week.. that would have been awesome... cheaper than buying one.

I mailed Hertz and they've told me that they might have the new 05 in October in Orlando and that they will make a note on my reservation that I get one if they have it. I am so happy I'm doing my happy dance right now

My test drive will take me from Fontana, CA (home of the California Speedway) to Las Vegas, NV. That should give me time to check out the new stang. Hope I can get a GT rental.

I think Hertz only rents the 6's. Others might have GT's--we'll see. Still, the 6 will give us a real feel for the car.

I'm sure there is no disrespect intended for Kevinb120. But that would be the way to go for a test drive.
I gave a customer a nice demonstration with our used 03 cobra the other day B) [/b][/quote]
Funny, I gave a salesman a nice demonstration of a used 03 Cobra as well. Test drives are fun.
