To my understanding you can fit remote start on manual tanny cars/trucks as long as the *lutch-start is deactivated-(pull fuse), never left in gear unless transfer case is in nuetral-(4x4). Most shops will not do it due to liability... Imagine if the car is in gear lunges foward in to another car or worse a person.

*Clutch-start=The clutch must be depressed for the engine to turn over @ start-up... not sure if all cars have this now.

More than likely. There are remote starters out there that are LEGAL to use on manual transmissions. Here are a couple: COMPUSTAR (Stay away from the High end one Junk, they have better reliability on the middle line) and Ultra Start ( from what I heard from talking to people who have one, they have no complaints).

Yeah, they're a bit of a hassle to use, you have to shut the vehicle down in a particular way to be able to use the remote start. It should be doable, though.

It may be legal, but the issue is liability. Since every kit I have seen says: Automatic transmissions only, the installer takes a risk by bypassing the cluth pedal feature. If something happens to another vehicle or person, the lawyers would have a field day.

I know they've come out with some very safe ones for the sticks. Some guy has one over on Stangnet, and he has no complaints at all. I forgot the name of it, but I know that it won't activate unless the car is in neutral.
