Wow they look just like production. Weird they would have those ready and then have the concept have the differences.

The concepts were made AFTER the production...

Production car cads were 'leaked' before the concept as well.
I have pics back from 99 when they were working on S197 (from BON) way back in the day. They resemble NOTHING what we see today.

Right I know that. What I'm saying is why make the concepts different and upset people if you already had a close to final design.

If you look at the concepts, they are exagerated lines of the 05.
There really isn't THAT much separating them, but certain body panels and features. They are closer than you think....
dimensionally not...but they are also built on 2 seperate platforms.

Thinking back, what were they suppose to do make it look like absolute crap so that the 05 Production would look better?
I personally feel the production is better...While the 05concept looks awsome...its just not functional compared to the production.

-large rims
-too low to the ground
-bad visability
-wider than average
-exhaust out the bumper
etc

It was also an amalgamation of things to come.
Ford isn't going to dump its hand all at once...
just because we can't all see it now, doesn't mean it won't happen.

Chill......

I agree with Boomer here. The concept was executed perfectly. It IS the production car, but in a form in which it is obvious that it was a CONCEPT vehicle. Most didn't expect the concept to resemble the production exactly.

I also think the production looks much better. As a result, I'm not at all disappointed with the production vs. the concept. I'm actually pleased that they kept the two so similar. We still got the great look of the concept body and a similar interior.

I didn't say I was unhappy, just that a lot of people were. I too prefer the production. The hood just doesn't do it for me on the concept. I just thought it was strange they would put a concept out that they knew they were not going to use, and already knew what they were going to change it to exactly.

No...as in patience...
Everyone will get what they want in one form or another...
Wether that be Cobra (can't afford it, but if I want the hood...I'll get the hood...if i want the wheels, I'll get the wheels )
or the aftermarket itself.

its all good in the hood

yea, i saw the concept more of a concept for things to come in the future, like the cobra for example.

Yeah, the concept is definately going to arrive... Whether it is the Cobra or the Shelby, one thing I know, this was designed for a purpose. Also, that front end could easily be the next Cobra, is screams Cobra. Take the other details, like the scoops, rear-quarter window, tails, you have the Shelby.

Also, we have alrwady seen these details repoduced on other versions. First on the red concept coupe that was pictured under an awning, and then in the GTR version. These details are for a super mustang, just like someone else said. It is exagerated. Bigger, bolder, more far fetched.

They were concept sketches which showed a very aggresive, non-retro Mustang with some styling cues still there. I thought they were ok. If my memory serves me right, I saw a bit of the GT90 concept in them.

Boom.. did you save them by any chance?

I remember these pics. They are probably one of two things. Notice the cars in the background pics all seem different. Look like Ford was either still tossing around ideas for the car or throwing out false pics to disinform the mags.

I remember when those were leaked. I was glued to the computer for weeks awaiting the unveiling. Thanks to all the great "choppers" we saw it first!

Wow, I hadn't seen them. Not a bad design, but it looks a lot like the last Cougar.
