Red interior is really maroon
On the demo '05 GT making the show cirucit, the red leather inteior was not bright red, but maroon. It looks like a maroon as seen in the '66 GT's. In my humble view, the maroon color is not nearly as attractive as the bright red leather seen in the photos. I'm changing my order to Dark Charcoal, KW.
Did anybody else have this observation?

:sigh:
We've heard, in addition the other mountain of misinformation floating about.. that the color making the show circuit is not the true production color. It's supposed to bright red like in the pics, not that means anything. We've also seen blue interiors and stripes and we know what happened to those.
Not that the red interior not being arrestingly loud is any reason not to get it, if you want a red interior, but that falls right back into what i was saying.

The frustrating thing is that I want to order the red interior but will be dissappointed if maroon is delivered. I'll also be dissapointed if I order some other color and the production red leather looks bright red, and I passed it up.

I was in the car. I'd call it red. Not maroon, not pink, not crimson. Just red. I didn't get out my Home Depot paint swatches to do a match on it. It was nice and it was red. I don't know what the big deal is. Wait until October and see which actual production colors you like.
If we actually get to that point and there are absolutely no colors that blow yer skirt up, then there's a problem. I guess then you get one with a black or charcol interior and drive it right from the dealer to the paint shop and do whatever you want with it.

They normally don't sign off on final color, graining, and overall appearance approval until they get close to J1. The red fire car in the Pony Drive is a CP prototype which is not the final color. Wait till you see the production car before you start changing your orders.

So far I am leaning towards yellow with charcoal leather, or torch red with red leather. But I need to see what some of these others look like. I just don't want to be disapointed or see a black one going down the road a month later and wish I would have got that. B)
Im buying mine off the lot too... mainly just concerned with what models they will be selling on the lot. V6 Deluxe or Premium, if they will have some Deluxe models with Premium features... or if you can only upgrade the features if you pre-order it yourself...... also color wise.....
(As you can tell, this will be the first vehicle I've bought
)

It was, by the way, said (by a Ford rep at Nashville, iirc), that the actual red leather will be brighter than the one used on the mules and show cars.

I am willing to bet you won't even be able to order the verts until you have had plenty of time to see the interior on the coupe. So, no need to worry about it.

Thanks, trakslacker. I needed a good laugh.
