this is a long story so i'll keep it short. after visiting countless dealers and spending a lot of time with the new mustang, i finally decided on how i wanted to order it. i decided on the redfire metallic with the IUP and color accent package. i had not seen this color combo in anything but pictures but i knew it would be Hot!! so a couple of days ago i took the long drive to galpin ford to order my new stang. as i entered into the dealership i came face to face with a yellow w/ black stripes. it was customized by galpin with its street scene body kit and borla exhaust. it looked good! i told the dealer i was interested in the red on red and he said he had a torch red with that interior that was returned. (it wasnt the red i wanted but it would at least give me an idea). we headed out to it and my excitement faded. while the pics of the red interior looked amazing it was just to much red for my taste. so after travelling all this way, prepared to order, it realized i had no idea what i wanted. i like the black interior w/ the IUP still but cant decide on the extrior. i want to get black stripes from the dealer but its a toss up between screaming yellow and redire metallic. i have seen the yellow with black stripes but not the red. if anyone is planning on adding black stripes to their redfire or already has it, would help me a TON if you could post pics. also opinions are extremely welcome

I have a Redfire and want to do something in stripes too. I don't think the Shelby stripes really look all that good on Redfire unless they are white maybe silver stripes too. I am considering doing something like the Boss stripes though. Black out between the tail lights too. Torch red looks good with black Shelby stripes and Yellow looks good too. It's a tough decision I know. Keep looking at as many pictures as you can here on Themustangsource and take your time. Good Luck!

Solid stripes only really look good on solid colour cars (unless the car is silver, then black works well). Black would work well on the torch red, but I am not so sure about the redfire (as stated before, perhaps silver stripes would look cool). the black on yellow looks really good!

my .02 worth...

If you're set on black stripes, then there is no question, the Yellow is it.

I haven't seen anybody do black "stripes" on a redfire car.

Swingle has done the center part of his redfire hood in black (painted) and blacked out the rear valence (also paint) and that looks cool, but they're not Shelby stripes, and IMO Shelby stripes on redfire would look good in gold, or silver and that's about it.

Redfire screams to be left alone and admired

Yellow with black is a great combo, it tones down the yellow just enough.
I've seen two on the streets, one with and one without stripes and either way it's an eye catcher. The black interior really looks like it belongs.

Theres nothing mellow about screaming yellow!
Stripless redfire for me, but I want something that is gonna fly a little bit under the radar.

Actually black, silver, or white are better for flying under the radar. Cops usually have their eyes peeled for red cars, and I for one usually notice red cars before most of the colors (except yellow). There were actually some studies done and red was the car most pulled over. a little useless fact. so both yellow and red arent good for flying under the radar.

I've seen alot of yellow this winter. Great color for the winter, easy on the eyes. Stipes on the red I agree should be silver or white. But if you want to make inpression on the road, yellow is what I would choose. I love the lime color too. But yellow is a happier color.

Agreed...I wanted something that is not as high on the radar screen...Torch red right at the top! Yellow, kinda LOUD, near the top too?
Redfire is a subdued red, sort of burgandy, maybe not quite the attention getter of a TR or SY.
