Thumbs up

Two questions:
I'm military, stationed in Korea. I'm returning in Nov 06 and may be buying a Mustang through the base exchange. I'm ordering a 2006 Legend Lime Mustang GT, premium package, IUP, side air bags, alarm, spoiler delete, and shaker 500.

My price quote is 27,493.00 with the possibility of an addtional 500.00 off for the Quarter Horse Assoc. discount. I'm additionally eligible for any discounts in 2006 and the car is guaranteed to be delivered in Nov 06. This price includes a 789.00 2006 "uplift fee" (an estimate of 06 price increase). This fee will not go up even if the 06 model goes higher and will be reduced if the 06 model price increase is less. I figure is there are any rebates in 06 this will at least pay for optional 18" fanblades.

Bottom line....is this a good price. I'm not in a position to look around in the states to compare. I also will be returning to Sacramento area to Beale AFB and things are quite pricey in the area (to include cars).

They can deliver to any dealer in the states, does anyone know a way to pickup in Vegas and not pay state tax. California is crazy expensive for tax.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You will have to pay the sales tax rate in the state in which you will license the car.......

$27,493 sounds allright (with your discounts) if you're getting an AT, but that sounds like it may be a little on the high side if you are getting a Manual.

Also if you are getting a 2006 Legend Lime is not an option for 06, You will need to order as Lime Gold

Lime gold...hmmmm. Probably doesn't look much different than Legend Lime. There were no specs for 06 model when I talked to him today.

Has anyone else on this board ordered from AAFES. If so, what were your experiances?

I'm basically getting everything optional except the shaker 1000 and automatic trans. I'm shooting for 26500.00 when its all said and done.

Does anyone have any idea (guess) how much the optional 18" rims will be?

Thanks

I havne't ordered through AAFES before I did order through the NEX while in Sicily. The guy I ordered from was great to work with. The car came when it was suppossed to and never had an issue. When I needed my stereo replacement they helped me find a local shop to fix it.

Good experience overall.

I got mine through them and even with all the problems with getting GT's They did a pretty good job! I am not complaining! My car was here when it was supposed to be which is more than I can say for what other dealers are getting done! Just make sure you keep contact with them via e-mail or phone conversations!

I've ordered thru AAFES (not on my 05 Mustang GT) when I bought a Ford Escape XLT. The AAFES deal is very hard to beat by any stateside dealer when you consider you usually pay just slightly over invoice and get all possible/available rebates.
My 05 Mustang that my wife bought for me stateside, the dealer honored the $500 military rebate, but if I had bought it thru AAFES, I have no doubt the car would have been significantly cheaper.
Anyway, good luck.

Sounds like a good price to me. I'm about 20 minutes away from Beale and the dealers around here have all got surcharges of up to $4k over sticker. That will go away in time but for now, no. Buy the car. Order the one you want and enjoy the you know what out of it.

I believe the attached file are the original prices but it will help you know what kind of deal you are getting. With the options you listed:

INVOICE / MSRP

Premium package 23489 / 25705
Destination & delivery 625 / 625
17" wheels 179 / 195
IUP 401 / 450
antitheft 227 / 255
airbags 329 / 370

$25 252 (invoice), $27,600 (MSRP)

I'm not sure what the recent price increase is over this, but it sounds like AAFES is charging you close to MSRP (around 100-300 less than MSRP?). I wouldn't describe this as a "good deal", but if your only other option is to pay $4k over sticker, then yes, it's a good deal.

Hope this helps.

Beale AFB.....Marysville, CA

Used to watch the SR-71 take off there when I was a kid........

Much faster than a GT Mustang. Same Idea though, sleek, smooth and fast.

I ordered my '06 through them. The best deal on the exact same car ('05) from a stateside dealer was $1600.00 over the what the military sales offered. This One is Mine did you have any problems with them? The uplift is how much Ford is suppose to increase the price, My price is locked in even if they increase it more (will drop if they don't increase the price as much). I ordered a GT (premium)with everything except AT and Shaker 1000.

If you don't mind me asking how much were you quoted for your 06? It sounds like you and I are getting the same except color. Where did you order you car? I'm in Korea right now. I haven't put anything down as of yet.

All they had was some info on the 06 V6 model..nothing on 06 GT just yet.

I was quoted $27,388. There is a $400.00 which I was told I would get plus anyothers that might come out between now and delivery. which is scheduled for 9/30/05 ( I hope it don't slide too much). I am waiting on the specs for the '06 GT. The only way the price will go up is if Ford adds any standard features (like the tire press. monitoring sys don't know how much tha will increase the price if at all)

Think you're getting a fair price and the car will be ready for you as you head stateside.

I ordered a GT Convertible for delivery to Germany 1/28/05 through ENCS. It was set for $33,700 and with rebates (2) I'll pay $32, 500, including auto, IUP, anti-theft, side air bags, wheel locks, conv boot, full rust proof, european delivery, uplift (almost used up fully). The car was built 4/18/05 and is on the rails to port to ride a ship to Germany. Good luck with your Mustang!

Are you certain the price quote was what you would pay through AAFES? That is very close to MSRP and AAFES price should be less than X-plan. I bought the exact spec car and paid just over $25k through X-plan after my military rebate. My understanding is that NEX/AAFES prices are dealer pricing before holdback. I think your quote was too high, but I know you can trust AAFES better than most dealers. Good Luck!

No we didn't have any problems with them. In fact they had to work very hard to make the promised delivery date. Of course it probably helped that my wife e-mailed and called them almost every day!

Actually, according to Brad's timeline, the Legend Lime color isn't going anywhere after all. Unless he made a mistake. It says the colors have been confirmed.

From looking at my figures within my ENCS contract, the MSRP and Invoice, the prices are roughly at 4% under MSRP for the car and 6% under MSRP for options. Counting all options, delivery & prep fees to Germany, I got my car at 3.5-4% under MSRP ($35019.85), before rebate or anything down ($33828.50) is my pay price. I recvd $1250 in rebates, put a $1000 down and will prob get $300 for the car being two weeks late to US port delivery for shipment.

Considering I really had no other way to get a GT Convertible while overseas I'm happy with ENCS deal.

BTW, my uplift fee that figured in the price to start with got eaten by a $1500 increase in base MSRP from $29185 to $30550 and invoice price from $28195 to $29501 for the GT Prem Convert before my build date of 4/18. Also think that the base MSRP for a GT Prem Convertible is now $31K plus. Cheers

Well I think I'm going to go forward with the purchase through AAFES.. After reading all of the feedback I think the price isn't necessarily the lowest (not the highest either) but the service may make up the difference. Its surely a better price than I can get in California and I won't want to travel all over to find one when I return to states. The car is guaranteed to be delivered by a certain date or money back. After a year in Korea I'm going to be ready to enjoy life again with my family and a new mustang. It's sort of my reward for getting through this tour here. I work in aircraft maintenance and it has been very hard challenging work.. The wife has been convinced as well....which definetly helps . I appreciate all the help and hope everyone continues to enjoy their new cars.

I'm really curious to see what lime gold looks like. Probably not much different than legend lime.....time will tell....thanks again.
