Do you guys think one of the aftermarket companys will create a piece that will come down just enough to have actual holes in the rear panel for the exhaust pipes to exit through?

I always thought that was one of the coolest things Ford did back in the 60's.

EDIT - Stupid typing mistakes!! :bang:

Yes, I do... The only thing that they will have to worry about though is the pipes, how hot they are, and the material they use for the rear facia...
But I think there is a company that actually does this for the 04 styled vehicle....

If Ford Racing makes the 'concept' parts, you're in luck
Someone will, I hope...

That's the rear end I want for my car

Tail lights and all, that is sweet.

What I love most about the rear (of the proto) is not only the look, but the function. It was an all glass hatch. (With an all glass roof). I love hatches. The trunk is easier to make the frame rigid, but just move supports into roof/roll cage and give me a hatch version!

Razzi has a rear facia that covers up the pipes. I had one on my '00 Vert. They'll have to do something with the heat coming off the '05 muffler though since the muffler will be practically on the facia.

That was one of my first thoughts too when I saw the production version: OK, so it's not a hatchback? It's not like they never done hatchback stangs before... I'd love it, both for the nostalgia factor and to get rid of the mailbox-slot the trunk has now.
