Stance and tires have a lot to do with comparing those two pics. 315s and lowered really changes the look IMHO. And here is a quick chop with the cobra spoiler.

And even though the sharper angled rear tail lights help the 04, the 05 still can be made to look mean.

heres wide meats done on paint.
Try to crop the04 cobra spoiler if you can?? thanks
Another question for all of you. Notice the inward slant of the tail lights (closest to the middle) Do you think the car would give off a better apearance if the tail lights were slanted outward like the 04??? Not a lot, but as drastic as the shape of the slant on the 05 is now?? [/b][/quote]
That'd would be a interesting comparison. I wonder if the Slant was slightly changed for the 05 if it would do anything.
I am no where near the level to put that 04 ducktail on the 05.
edit: cool that ducktail looks awesome. nice job.

I have to agree with the orignal poster. I really like the cobra rear end better than the 05 (it has nothing to do with the tires). However, I like everything else on the 05 better than the cobra (as far as aesthitics).
after looking at this pic . replace the 05 tail lamps so the slant a little outward like the 04 but not as drastic. about the same degree as the inward slantness of the 05. I don't like the duck tail for the 05 in one of the posts above, but I would like some thing more like the cobra spoiler. the duck tail for the 05 confuses me. I don't know if it makes the rear look flat or like a bowl. All I know it seems funny looking.

Thats a beautiful 05 rear-end. Nice job with the lowering and the ducktail, man.

Ok!!!! That is looking real good. That spoiler works!! OMG!!! IT"S WAY BETTER THAN THE DUCK TAIL OFFERED NOW!!! One more favor and I will leave you alone.
can you slant the taillights the opposite direction so that they are slanting outward??
Wow- I think we are creating a whole new look for the rear of this mustang. Hope the aftermarket guys are watching!!!

I think that is a great idea and looks much less docile.

I think it's sublte enough to keep it 05'ness. Both rear-ends aren't shockingly different to begin with.

Looks really good. If you chop it any more it IS going to be the rear end of the 04 cobra.

Isn't the new taillight slant going to make opening the trunk problematic?

I was looking at the web site that sells the tint for the rear and came upon this pic. I don't know about you but the over all looks of the 04 cobras rear end looks more mean than the 05. I know, I'm taking in consideration of the 315's on the back ,but the overall shape is better inop. Now my question is. After looking at the after market rear end kits. How can the 05 rear match up to the rear of the mean looks of the 04 mustang. Do ya think that it is possible to out do the looks of this beauty above(04 cobra)?????????????????
Makes me want to smack that hiney

Those black cherry tail-lights are a nice compliment over the standard red ones, especially on this black stang.

I can't lower my car. If I did I wouldn't be able to get up my driveway and park it in the garage.
