The real weight of 07-08 GT's
3 of us went out tonight for dinner and cruise and we weighed our GT's at a truck scale we know of that is open to the public. Interesting..
08 GT coupe with most every option 5 speed came in at 3600 lbs wit no driver 3/4 tank of gas.
07 Shelby GT coupe 5 speed with aftermarket stereo/amp/speakers. paxton blower and a buncha other add ones weighted 3560 with no driver and 3/4 tank gas
my 07 GT convertible with just about every option and 5 speed was 3640 w/o driver and 3/4 tank.
Interesting. First the Shelbys DO weigh less then regular GT's and the convertible only weigh 40 lbs more then coupe optioned the same. I was told that the verts were 100-125 lbs more which is not true.

The "real weight" of my 2008 GT is 3490 lbs. That is actual curb weight, with full tank of gas, floor mats, nothing else inside, as weighed on my Longacre corner scales at home soon after I took delivery. The only options on my Premium '08 GT are spoiler delete and 3.55 gears.

I've weighed my 07 Mustang GT Automatic Coupe several times in several different configurations at our nearby Dept of Transportation weigh stations along Interstate 5. These are accurate to within +/- 20 lbs.
Full tank of gas, everything in car = 3,560 lbs.
Jack/spare removed, back seat removed, 1/4 tank of gas = 3,440 lbs.

my 07 with 17" 98 cobra wheels on the back, stock 18" bullitts up front, everything still in car with along with 1/4 tank of gas was 3450 without me...that's leather, factory nav., iup...whatever else is in there. seems about right.

Hmmm...interesting as I am wondering if a 2004 Ford Expedition with tow package could tow my stang across the crountry...thoughts? I got a 2006 vert....dont mean to hijack the thread
