I wish they went into more detail, like stereo, wheels and other options.

Right now the count for my car is less then 1000 (992) for 2005 & 2006, but I wonder what the count is for my exact configuration, including spoiler delete.

I wonder what the numbers are for 07. I have an 07 GT convertible in Satin Silver with the black/camel interior and a black top with the auto. Weirdest looking car I've ever owned, but it's my wife and she likes it - because it had the nav radio.

That info is certainly around somewhere - I wonder if Kzinti is still around on the Blue Oval Forums...

He had loads of info when people were first ordering their 05's. The dealers didn't know squat, but he could tell you where your car was in the build que.

I might have to dig around a little...

Mines bone stock, only thing not stock is her exhaust.

Nice try Noob! Except the exhaust is also considered as a mod.. Therefore, your car is no longer bone stock. That being said, I also wouldn't count on getting responses from any of the OP's being as the last activity on this thread was from over 14 years ago

You do have a rare animal then.

S197s in general are pretty rare now - I see either garage queens or really roached out survivors on their last legs these days. I note that convertibles in general seem to have largely disappeared in my area (So Cal!) so I feel even more fortunate to still have my "unique" Pony alive and kicking.

Perhaps it's just me, but my definition of a rare vehicle is either a limited/special edition variant or has unique features such as limited color options and so forth. Therefore, I don't consider anything special nor rare about a factory/stock S197 Mustang

Rare doesn't = worth more money, just means there are very few of " them " leaving the Ford factory.
Even in the age of mass production, it's still possible to option a vehicle, like no one else's !!

My response wasn't referring to rare as being worth more money, nor related to option out like no one else's!! but rather the comparison between factory limited production/special edition variants vs factory mass production vehicles. Therefore, is a factory mass-production S197 that hasn't been modified by the end-user considered a rare vehicle? By comparison, I would not consider a mass production S197 as being a rare vehicle IMHO.

The thread topic debate is whether a factory/stock S197 is considered a rare vehicle vs modified by the end-user... Therefore, I'll clarify once again. I don't consider a stock S197 nor any other mass-production Mustang for that matter as being a rare vehicle. My definition also clearly stated that limited production/special edition variants such as your "14" GT500 just for example would be considered as being a rare vehicle.

That being said, just exactly in what ways are your post response quotes below relevant to the thread topic in any way

Once you understand the definition of rare, my posts make sense, till then, maybe not..

Perhaps you have an obvious reading comprehension problem, as my response to your posts clearly stated as MY DEFINITION or interpretation of what I consider as being a rare Mustang not just once, but 3 times which btw: includes your 2014 Shelby GT500.. The reason, your GT500 is a limited edition/special edition variant vs mass produced base and GT models. Therefore, it would appear your attempting to dispute that special edition/limited production vehicles such as your 2014 Shelby GT500 is not considered as a rare vehicle? If this is what your disputing, not only have you contradicted yourself on 3 different post responses, but it would also appear that it's you who obviously doesn't comprehend what the definition of rare actually is... That being said, perhaps you ought to take a good look at yourself before calling out somebody else

@m05fastbackGT vs @1 Alibi 2

me...

Yes a car can be rare, but not worth much. To be valuable it not only needs to be rare, but it needs to be desirable too.

Yes @1 Alibi 2 's car is both (Very rare and Very desirable) and should be worth a pretty penny right now. The 2013/2014 GT500's (with minor mods) are very valuable no matter how they are equipped.

Unlike mine that is rare, but not rare enough to be desirable...

Maybe GT500 is confusing you on rare, how about the " only one "...................F150 !!
