Ok I am patiently waiting for my 06' to come in and reading forums constantly at work, thought I would start a little post.

What is the quickest, time/mileage, that people have gotten damage to their new mustangs?

I had my car 9 days and 480 miles when some dumb lady in a Tahoe decided she was going to merge into my lane whether I was in it or not. 3 weeks, $1,500 from her insurance company, a new fender, side mirror and some paint work later, and it's finally pretty again.

I had my car for 2 days. On the third day, in the morning, I was backing up to park and wash my car. Not used to the lenght of the car, I hit a cement wall. Though the bumper was not broken, I have 2 3-4" scratches on my back bumper. Haven't fixed it yet.

now theres something to look forward to. What are you trying to do, see if you can get the record for damaging your car the fastest when you get it.

Had mine about a week when I scraped the right front wheel against a curb in the parking garage due to not being used to a car with a nose that long (had a PT Cruiser before). I was really bent about it, but I got out my polishing tools and you can't see it now. Then at about 3k miles the garage door came down on the bumper (long story) and scuffed/ gouged it. I did a temporary fill & paint on it, but one of these days I need to get the whole bumper cleared. Minor, but it sure is annoying because it takes the "new" feeling off the car!

When I arrived at the dealership to pick up my car, there was a paint chip on the drivers door. Looks like the guy dinged it when he opened the door next to the gas pump to fill it up for delivery. 2.6 miles on the odometer.

Beat THAT stinkers!!!

Sean

PS - wait a minute, I remember someone on here had the shifter linkage damaged when they were taking the car off the truck at the dealership. Looks like I'm a distant 2nd!

My damage definately wasn't early in my case, over 10k on the clock...

When I get in my car I always shift into neutral, engage the clutch, start, release the clutch and the key...
Anyways, I stayed late at work one night, left about 1:30am when I was scheduled to leave at 12, so I was tired and hungry at that point. Well I get in my car, engage the clutch, start, release the clutch and key and *BAM* jump into the concrete wall that was 2ft away when I parked my car. It seems I forgot to put it in neutral this time. So needless to say I was pretty upset driving home. I didn't even get to look at the damage until the next day, which, thankfully is just a speckling of chips along the front of my bumper. I still haven't gotten it fixed, so the center of my front bumper constantly looks like its covered in bugs.

That leads to only one conclusion: cement walls are conspiring against the mustangs.

I seem to remember an old thread where a Mustang was driven off the side of the carrier truck and destroyed the whole side.

I had my car for 4 1/2 months, 9500 miles, when some dumb lady is driving in the middle of the road and dents up the whole driver side of my car. It is at the shop being fixed. i should have it back Monday. The good thing is that the damage was only to the sheetmetal and three of the rims, all of which are easily replaced. No suspension/frame damage.

About 2 weeks when my wife hit a gas pump with the drivers door. Not just a little scratch......a deep gauge.

HA HA, ok, I got hoem with my car at 12 noon, go to my friends at 3pm, park where I always do, open the door and bang, right into his mailbox (was not used to the longer door of the stang compared to my old car). Got a nice little nick in the door.

The only good thign about it is that its over with and I know I did it and not some jerk in a parking lot.

A month ago. 7000 miles. In traffic stopped and lady just keeps, creeping and creeping and creeping until she very slightly gently tapped the reat bumper right above the right exhaust pipe, there is a very nasty scratch in the paint, no bumper damaage. The car goes to the shop tomorrow for 2 days. The lady is paying for it all.
