DO all the 2008 Gt premiums come with that big antenna? It looks like a bit of an eye soar to me.

The radio antenna on the passenger side fender? Yes

The Sirius satellite circular lump on the back side of the hood? No, not unless you get Sirius satellite.

 

Standard and Sirius is an option.

I hear you! I just picked my 08 up a few weeks ago and that antenna was my first mod, as my friend said.."get that antenna off of there unless you plan on hanging your grandma's bra out to dry off of it".

 

It's my first and so far only mod to my car. Got the 14" from American Muscle. Looks much better. Kept the original to replace the one on my Explorer!

 

LOL, yeah I was talking about the one on the passengers side. Those big black mirrors arnt that big IMO. But the antenna can be shortened?

 

Yes, you can cut it to any length you want. I took mine off level w/ the roofline, then cut, then pressed the little ball back on the cut portion.

Well ya never know if you will need that big fishing pole for getting better reception up in the Himalayas! I bought mine too, 14" shortie which looks great, but kept the old one and did a "mod" on my truck swapping the silver one for the black. hard to believe they use exactly the same antennae on the Explorer as the Mustang!!!!!! Hey Icould always chop the silver one and make a silver shortie.....hmmmmmmmm...

 

Hehehe - but there is a workable solution for those big black side mirrors

My '05 and '07 Mustang have the same antenna, along with our Explorer. Love it. I don't like the stupid ribs on the stock one, so cutting wasn't an option for me. I wanted the smooth antenna like AM sells.

 

I like the antenna also. The car is retro after all.
