quick interior question
quick interior question
I know there are ppl that have owned both. and you know test drives only do so much.
Anyway i owned a '98 SN95 gt vert. and im pondering on getting me another stang in a few months when my truck is paid off. i was looking at a 07-10 vert.
im a big boy, 6 foot one 245 pounds. I could fit in my 98 nicely but i read somewhere the interior on the new stangs are smaller. im worried about the car feeling too cramped after a while. has anyone owned both and has some input?
thanks guys
Chris

I've never had an SN95 but have had a bunch of Foxes. Currently drive an '08.
I am 6'2" and around 200lbs. I don't feel cramped at all. In fact, the way I fit in the car is one of the reasons I bought it over another car. I have to move the front seat up a bit to reach full travel on the clutch pedal and have more than enough head room.
The back seat..that is another matter!!!
Hope this helps.

6' 1" with a 50" chest here, 32" inseam, 37" sleeve. Most comfortable sportscar to be in, for me. Have sat in the Audi TT, 350Z, S2000, Vette and the new Camaro, and flat don't fit in the Japanese or German (mostly head room problems), fit in the Camaro okay, but the roof line is level w/ my forehead (couldn't adjust the seat height, so maybe that was it. The Vette is a bit tight/cramped, but it's a 2 seater.
The Mustang's only fault fit wise is lack of telescoping steering column, but my arms are way long, so even reclined I reach everything fine. Don't feel cramped at all.
My wife had a 2000 V6 Convertible, and I didn't feel cramped, but more like I was sitting above the car instead of cocooned inside it.
Lower the seat and my helmet even fits.

I had a SN95 (1998 V6), and my 2009 GT seems much less cramped. I'm 5' 11" and 190 lbs, and the SN95 always felt tight to me, and that was with the driver's seat all the way back. My '09 is very comfortable comparatively.
I had a 1999 and now drive a 2009. The S197 drivers seat seems closer to the center console than in the SN95. I occasionally bump my right knee on the steering wheel tilt release when getting in or out of the car. Hurts like something! Other than that, the front seats are plenty big.

the S197's are bigger than the SN95's on the inside
I'm 6'5, 325, and I fit great in the 05+
I do however wish there was a telescoping steering wheel, that would be fantastic.

+3. I too wish they had a telo wheel but still, much more comfy than a SN95.
Have had an SN95. Have a Fox and S197. The S197 is really roomy compaired to the others. Think personal luxury coupe (like a T-Bird or Monte). I'm 5'11 @210 and have lots of room to spare. Just pop into a dealer and try one on...
