I am one of those poor guys that wants a stang but cant afford a GT :bang:

I am looking at purchasing a 05 Deluxe with the exterior appearance option with no other options or add-ons.

Before making a purchase if anyone here could help get me as informed as possible.

First off what price range is reasonable? I am in the Kansas City area if regional pricing affects anything. I talked with one dealer and he quoted me sticker and would not budge and wanted to charge Doc fees....yah right, not for the deluxe. I went to another dealer and they quoted about 18,900 to order one.

Which brings me to ordering. I understand it is impossible now to order a get an 05 GT. Is there any concern about ordering the V6 and getting an 05?

Now to the fun stuff.

How much HP can you squeeze of the the V6 model?
I'd like to start with modest improvements and add them over time. What would be the best areas to start with?

The only "reasonable" price is MSRP or less.

This is the latest price list:

Dealer invoice with hold back is "invoice." Suggested Retail is "MSRP".

Ya...GT orders for 05 is gone. Dunno how ordering a V6 would go, but you definately have better odds ordering it than a GT.

Check the S197 V6 Tech & Performance as far as squeezing more HP outta the V6 though.

There are quite a few V6's on dealer lots, you may be able to find what you want without ordering.

Considering you pretty much want a bone-stock V6 there isn't any reason to order unless you can't find your color. I doubt you would be able to get one ordered now outside of finding a dealer with massive allocation numbers. I was #3 in line at my dealership and it took about a month to get pulled, two months to get built. You have a shot but it's going to push the MY change over.
