Hello All-
Yesterday afternoon I happened to be driving past my dealer so I decided to stop and talk to the service department about the problems with my car (gas tank,CD player skipping, front struts).

When I mentioned the problem with the CD player the advisior told me that I would have to leave the car with them on a weekday so their radio person could check it out. When I mentioned the TSB on the Shaker systems that tells the dealer to replace the radio she told me 'we don't just replace the radio, the tech has to check it first'. With my luck the CD player will work fine when it's in the shop and the dealer will tell me nothing is wrong with it.

In regard to the problem with the struts I was told that they have to drive the car to determine the problem so they can fix it...but if I remember right Ford has a TSB on this problem that tells the dealer to avoid making repairs until they (Ford) knows how to fix it.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem with the dealer, and how did you resolve the problem?

True. Myself and others have had to leave it to be checked out. Ford would not just replace a radio for evey Tom, weiner, and Harry that stopped by.

That happened to me, but then the TSB came out the next day, so they actually acknowledge that I had a problem. Good timing I guess.

Yes they will drive it to determine the problem. I have the popping noise. After a test drive, they believe it is in the steering column, not the struts. So it may be something else.
