Question about X pipes

I know some X pipes are tru x pipes like the bassani and magnflow and some x-pipes look like two pipes welded together to form a X such as UPR, Pypes and SLP. Do these two types of X pipes make a difference in sound?

i think the only one that would make a difference in the sound is the bassani. the bassani is more like a mac prochamber. i have the pypes with the pypes long tube headers. i am going to replace it later on with the bassani or mac prochamber. i think these two sound best with a chambered muffler.

I may be buying a used bassani catted x for $100 plus shipping. I do have a concern about the bassani. With it being a modular design that let's you go catted and uncatted, I am concernced about exhaust leaks when put the cats on since they are clamped or bolted on. I guess I could have the cats welded in.

you could have them welded in or use band clamps

I have a Magnaflow cat back exhaust system on my.......sorry, Dodge LOL!!! The way the joint connections for the pipes are made and the way the clamps are made now days, i wouldn't worry one bit about an exhaust leak. Clamps work great plus it will be easier to change things later if you decide to.

I had an SLP modular catted X-pipe and never had any issues with it.

Looks like I am going with the bassani catted X. Heck 100 plus shipping is a good price. The seller is getting rid of it because he is going w/LT
