Pypes axle-back or new mid-pipe system?
Pype down
I have Pypes axle backs and DO NOT recommend them. The tips are protruding at different lengths and the welded on hangars were welded on in the wrong places. They drone fiercely at lower RPMs too. GARBAGE! It took 1/2 a day to modify all 4 muffler brackets!!!!!!!!! Also SS tips turn yellow in a day or two. Chrome would look nicer. The good thing? 4" tips.
I have the Violators and I love them. Very little drown and most of the time I don't notice it. It fit great for me. I had no problems installing them. THe finish looked nice to me. I got the polished Stainless Steel. Tips look great from the back. I also don't have an alignment problem either. Not sure what happened to yours.

Do you have the fully polished setup or the one where just the tips are polished? How long have you had them? Did you ever call Pypes and tell them about your issues?
Their prices seem good but nobody ever talks about them. The new mid-muffler system looks cool and they say there is NO drone but I'd like to hear them in person.
Fords4ever,
No I have the plain mufflers with the pol SS 4" tips(axle back) I painted them hi temp flat black to hide them from behind.Unfortunately that was BEFORE
I found out about the crappy fitment issues/ tips w/ different lengths etc.
As far as contacting PYPES I was too %&$g po'd
to even try. Since I painted them I figured they wouldn't take them back in ANY case.So I just fixed em to fit...........

I thought I would chime in here, since I recently installed the Violator SS (only polished tips). I actually bought the motoblue rs mufflers, but was sent these instead. I'm pretty happy with them. My tips seem to protrude from the bumper evenly, and they line up perfectly. The only thing I had to do is loosen the passenger side h pipe clamp, as most people have had to do to line up passenger mufflers on axlebacks. I'm very happy with them for the price. I don't notice any drone. They're deeper than stock, and slightly louder. They're just started to break in now, and they seem to be slowly getting louder. I was disappointed with how quiet they were at first, seeing as I had bought the motoblue ones hoping to gain some dB's, but now that they're coming to life, I really like them. I still am planning on an o/r pipe of some type, but that's personal preference.
If you're looking for a muffler with nice tips, lower tone than stock, and about 5-10 dB's louder than stock, this would be the setup to get. I'll post more in a few months when I get an o/r pipe.

That's what I thought. Again, I'm comparing it to a car with o/r pipe and straight thru mufflers, but these are supposed to be pretty much straight thru. They just don't see all that loud. My girlfriend agrees 100%, that it needs to be louder. But, for someone who doesn't want to wake the neighbors, I'd suggest them. They sound good. I just need to add some kind of off road pipe.
