I know ALOT of the new manual transmission cars can't be push started if the battery gets drained (i.e.left light on) Do you see this being true on the 05? What about with the 04's?

My auto teacher said that alot of really new manual car's can't be push started, but I didnt think it would include the mustang.
Oh well if it can't (still kinda doubtful, wait and see thing) its not really a big deal. For me at least. Would be good to have on accidental circumstances tho'.
Anyone else that can agree or disagree to it?

lol... if the battery gets drained, you won't be able to get into your stang as it has keyless entry... starting your car won't be your primary concern then :P

LMFAOROTF!!! New generation car owners are so used to auto everything, they forgot how to operate a key & lock.

um, key hole! you just forgot cars have them still
There is no distributor to turn off the crank anymore and generate spark. Also, the computer needs power just to turn on the ignition computer and fuel pump, and all the sensors need to show OK before the car start sequence begins. Just dont leave your lights on..........

I doubt that the door will open if the battery is off-line. I bet the locks are electrical, too

So the door is open, you sit into the car, and the interior ultrasonic motion detector, powered by an independent battery, fires off the alarm. Which you can't turn off because you'd have to start the car or something. Or unlock it. But you won't because the battery has drained. Woooha. You gotta hate that wannabe-hightech stuff. It's just like drive-by-wire. Nobody needs it, it just makes things more complicated
-edit-
Oh and, hehe, don't the windows drop down an inch if you unlock the door. If the battery is off-line, they won't. Which means that you send the door seal to kingdom come :P

I've also heard the door won't unlook in a full-moon. Something about the high tides interferring with the frequency of the remote and specific laser guided fiber optic lock mechnaism the new stangs use.
Dunno, they may not be true.

actually I have the viper security system on my integra now which has power locks. If you first enable the keyless security system, then try to open the door with the key, the alarm goes off, but the door opens. But that just totally disables the engine and you cant start it till its unlocked with the remote.

There is no way ford would be so dumb to make it so the car is inaccessible if the battery dies. If that were the case, then the battery coudn't be replaced. You need to pop the hood to get at the battery , and you need to get into the car to pop the hood. No need to go making outrageous claims that insult the intelligence of the car's designers.
